On today’s Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough cited a Wall Street Journal editorial for the proposition that President Trump wouldn’t mind losing the Republican House majority in 2018. Wrote the Journal [emphasis added]:
“Mr. Trump might not welcome a Democratic House, but he also might not fear it as long as Republicans keep the Senate. More than even most politicians, Mr. Trump always needs a foil, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi would be from central political casting.“
Scarborough seemed to scoff at the idea, saying, “I don’t think he ever thinks that way,” but it was hard to know whether Joe was being serious, as he continued: “everybody says, Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House gives me the perfect target to attack for the next two years, and in 2020.”

EACH House seat boils down to the candidates running in that district. I'm not crazy about the GOP in my district, but I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR A DEM.

Perfect foil. When the Dems take the House and DJT and Pense are impeached. When the Dem Senate Convicts and Removes both. President Pelosi, the perfect super woman for the perfect Democrat take over of the country. When President Pelosi names Obama the Speaker of the House.

That is the big downside of losing the House. The existing investigations into corruption would all end and new ones would begin that target the Trump administration. The media would love it.
THIS is a key reason why Trump needs to declassify the FISA requests now! Before its too late. Besides the right of the people to know what went on, release of these explosive documents could help him politically and provide a rationale for shutting down the witch hunt and/or removing certain people at DOJ.
He’s missing a golden opportunity.
Trump has been too nice to Nancy. I would love to see him give Nancy the full Jeb treatment.

I understand your point. The article does disclose Scarborough’s supposed disagreement with the premise, but also his contradictory statement:

Please also have a look at the video and see if you don’t think Scarborough might have been speaking tongue in cheek when he said he didn’t believe Trump thinks that way.
Admittedly that would be fun to watch.

President Pelosi will recommend the Senate confirm Hillary Clinton as her Vice President. Once confirmed President Pelosi will resign and Hillary will be sworn in as President.
It will be timed so Hillary can run in 2020 and 2024 and serve almost ten years in the White House.

God love you, I don’t know how you stand to watch these idiots. I caught a glimpse of them this morning discussing the number of lies PDJT has told this year. IIRC, they had the number in the 500 range with an average of 7.9 per day. They are truly disturbed.
