On Tuesday, Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategies released its latest survey on the upcoming U.S. Senate race between Gov. Rick Scott (R-FL) and incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL).
According to the poll conducted July 24-25 of 625 registered Florida voters, Scott has 47-44 percent lead over Nelson, which is a shift from a poll conducted in February when Nelson was up 45-44 percent.
The Mason-Dixon poll is in line with many other recent polls that also show Scott with a slight edge over Nelson. According to the Real Clear Politics polling average of the race, Nelson is up 1.2 percent.

If The Villages go for Nelson, you’d know there’s vote fraud...
LOL!
Couldn’t agree more. 6 more years of Ben Nelson!
Get a life.
Good. I believe Scott, though a seriously flawed candidate himself, will beat out the far worse Nelson.
Nelson did not used to be so bad. He was a moderate to conservative Democrat in his first stint in the US Senate but when he came back to the Senate in 2000, he lurched to the Left - far to the Left of where the Florida electorate is.
Hope you're enjoying that RINO/GOPe Kool-aid. Drink up! Scott has an R after his name. He's going to save us from the Dems, no matter how much of the Constitution he has to trash.
Fienstein was a good Mayor. Kept all the whacks at arms length. Her 2nd/3rd term in the Senate is something else. Scott is not flawed. Anyone who wins statewide is not flawed unless you think the voters are.
Scott won statewide because he lied to the voters. The NRA gave him an A+ rating both times he ran for governor. Then he decided the 2nd amendment was no longer important. I wonder what they'll rate him this time around.
It's really a shame because I was big supporter and defender of Scott for Governor early on. Especially when RINOs like former FL congresscritter Lou Frey was calling in to some of the local talk radio shows saying he might vote for Dem Alex Sink rather than Scott.
Scott has permanently lost my and my family and friends' vote and support. Just tired of these two faced politicians who will say or do anything to get elected. If Scott does win it will probably be close. Many other Florida gun owners feel as I do. He better start pandering to the Puerto Rican voters. (Oh wait. He already did that)
I expect R’s to gain 6+ in the Senate... and honestly if the Dems keep going ape poop crazy all summer trying to stop Kavanaugh etc... a 10 seat gain would not be impossible.
Scott wins by 12 take it to the bank. Whomever is the Democrat governor nominee will pull Nelson down with him/her. There is no excitement for Nelson down here.
Who the hell cares! We need less RINOs! WE NEED MORE DEMOCRATS!!!
That will TEACH THE REPUBLICANS A LESSON!!!
Go get them BIG BOY!!!! Go LOAD UP the Senate with DEMOCRATS!!! That will sure teach the RINOS A LESSON!!!
Sick.
Aw cheer up. I hear Bill Kristol is considering a run for President. Then you can vote full Rino-crat. After all he will have an R after his name.
If he votes for Trumps judges...good enough for me. Sad that others side with Shumer’s people to ‘send a message’.
That's a pretty big "if". Don't count on it. Those who are rewarded after betraying their constituency just become emboldened.
For the record I don't side with Schumer or any other Dems. I have been down this road before (voting for the lesser of two evils, see Bush I, Bush II, McCain etc.).
While I can't vote for a Rep. Senator in another state, I will gladly support any real pro 2nd amendment, pro life conservative candidate. I feel confident we will keep the majority in the Senate with or without Scott. If Nelson wins Scott has no one to blame but himself, but it will not be the end of world. We can bask in the sunshine of a Governor DeSantis victory, and a renewed Senate majority.
You might as well side with Shumer if you’re helping him elect Democrats.
As to vote, you’re simply over the top on that. Scott will NOT be an issue, not even close.

That’s a bit harsh considering the beltway GOP is happy to “side with Shumer” and give top cover to the Mueller coup. Not to mention the news about the Koch Brothers refusing to support Senator Heitkamp’s GOP challenger and offering to help Democrats who follow the America Last agenda.
I wouldn’t throw any politician under the bus based on the bump stock issue. It undoubtedly can cause a semi-automatic rifle to mimic an automatic weapon. Maybe not fire quite as many rounds as a fully automatic weapon designed for the purpose, but much faster than a semi-automatic weapon without a bump stock. Sure, a well trained person can fire a semi-automatic at a rate close to a bump stock, but such people are few and far between.
Personally, I think non-felon civilians should have access to the same weapons as non-military law enforcement agencies.
Keep in mind that the bump stock issue was only one part of the bill Scott signed into law. The new law also bans 18-20 year olds from purchasing long guns and creates a mandatory 3 day waiting period on firearm purchases statewide.
Also part of the new law is The Risk Protection Order. You can read a discussion of it here:
More than 450 people in Florida ordered to give up guns under new law, report says
A sad and disgusting mess Rick Scott is leaving behind. We can only hope that Gov. DeSantis and a reeducated Fl legislature will undo it. If Scott loses they may learn that siding with liberals has consequences. If not we may slowly morph into California.
