President Trump traveled to Granite City, Illinois to speak to steelworkers at the US Steel plant that reopened this year.
Since President Trump enacted tariffs on foreign steel imports U.S. Steel has decided to restart both furnaces, meaning the return of 800 jobs.
This afternoon local KSDK reporter spoke with one of the steelworkers at the Granite City plant.
The man says he is a third generation steelworker and was out of work for two-and-a-half years. He then cries as he talks about President Trump and the life he has brought back to this eastern Illinois community.
US Steel Worker:
It’s nice to know we got someone is fighting for us, to keep our jobs. It was rough for a lot of us.

It’s easy to say POTUS is a genius - maybe he is and maybe he isn’t - but compared to the usual politician, especially but not limited to the rats, President Trump is Einstein x 1000.
Obama had no vision of anything except empowering losers - the formula that has worked well for rats for quite a while now. I guess that’s who he identified with - or was it more cynical - did he just use the losers? Probably both.
But what happens now that the administration has dropped the tariffs on European steel?
And th USWU will donate millions of dollars to defeat him in 2020.

The Gateway Pundit surely should know that Granite City is in Southwestern Illinois. He was probably thinking in terms of it being an Eastern St. Louis area community.

Yes you’re right, it is a quiet tragedy but devastating to the affected families.
The flip side to this is young people who can’t get started in life due to a lack of good jobs. They start families late or not at all.

Precisely what I was thinking. However I bet the rank and file know better.
It’s the same in my union. Operating engineers. The leadership tells us to vote rat, but the rank and file are the MAGA voters, thru and thru. I only know of 1 or 2 people who drink the leftist cool aid and they don’t have many friends.
