And THAT is why we have the electoral college.

It's a mostly red nation. Problem is, the blue areas are more dense in population (urban areas). In the big urban cities, you have more welfare, illegals, and other government dependents. Then in the suburbs, you have the superior nose-in-the-air limousine liberals.

Other than that, it's Trump country.

NYT does one thing right - election results. They were the first ones to see the Trump victory. By 9:30, the NYT website clearly showed me that Trump was on his way to victory while everybody else was in freak-out mode for several more hours.

I would love to see detailed analysis on what makes city dwellers so much more likely to be far left liberal democrats.

Even in the most conservative locales there is a small island of blue (or at least bluer) in a sea of red.

As population density goes up, it seems that reliance on the government increases.

I’d like to figure out the “why.”

Thanks! This was fun. I’m moving and it was fun seeing how my new neighborhood voted street by street. Sometimes the Times gets it right. Rarer and rarer, though.

It’s pretty obvious in my area: homeowners for Trump, apartment-dwellers for Hillary.

How to see this without paying? I even already pay for the cooking part of the NYT but I don’t want to pay for the politics.

It would be interesting to see congressional districts overlaid on that map.

If patriots would support Pres. Trump in leading the states to repeal the ill-conceived 17th Amendment, and politically “force” the feds to surrender state powers that they have stolen from the states back to the states, we’d be much less concerned about election maps imo.

The 16th Amendment, the amendment that effectively repealed the involuntary servitude aspect of the 13th Amendment imo, needs to disappear too.

The press use state wide or nationwide poll data and trends to measure things like Blue Waves. Real professionals work at the precinct level, always. The reason that those professionals go it so wrong in 2016 is that this result on this map did not match the historical data of previous elections. The conventional wisdom is that since this year’s election is a midterm and since “everyone” hate Trump, the map of this election will not look like this one, the map will look like previous elections except with more Blue. The people who are making those assumptions all live in those Blue enclaves and that’s where most of the predictions originate.

I think that this year’s election will look more like the 2016 map which will be good for Trump and good for the American people, but that’s no scientific analysis. In fact, I think that the Trump camp will get more support this time, because Trump has delivered across the board and no one wants tax increases, demise of ICE, and the Socialist takeover of the Democrat Party. Not a good time to be a Democrat.

Wow. A veritable sea of red. Like the clam flats in Buzzards Bay in the Summer at low tide.

An interesting note.

Take a look at Irvine California....South of LA where the 405 and the 5 intersect Southeast of Rt. 133. Zoom in and locate the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station.

Half of the area (Marine Way) shows white and the popup says 99% Hillary. The other half (Where Irvine Blvd. splits it) Shows 67% Hillary.

Somehow...I doubt those numbers are accurate.

Great map, but some of the precincts are very small indeed: nine voters, five voters, three voters.

It seems like more people would be counting the votes in those precincts than are actually voting.
