Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping offered a rousing defense of globalism and suggested the evolution of global governance system will have a profound impact on the development of all countries during Wednesdays opening of the BRICS summit in South Africa.
The international community has reached a new crossroads, he suggested.
At that crossroads, Xi suggested leaders should embrace openness and cooperation, adding a trade war should be rejected, because there will be no winner. Economic hegemony is even more objectionable, as it will undermine the collective interests of the international community; those who pursue this course will only end up hurting themselves.
He also repeatedly referred to global governance and asked BRICS countries to improve it and pressure the world to fully observe collectively adopted international rules, and we should treat all countries as equals regardless of their size, address issues that matter to all through consultation and oppose hegemony and power politics.
Xi promised. The Belt and Road Initiative, guided by the principle of seeking shared benefits through extensive consultation and joint contribution, originated in China but belongs to the world.
OBOR is an initiative in which China is offering predatory loans to developing countries around the world in exchange for help building major roads, ports, and railways. When countries fail to pay their loans, China picks up ownership of the new infrastructure, giving Beijing extensive control over global commerce.

This is a position supported by most millennials in the USA.
Just another jackass in a long line of weenies throughout history with dreams of being Ruler of the World.
Oh yeah. The Chinese Commies think they are smart enough to run the world, while all the inferiors are there to serve them. Cut off all food exports to China. Let all these bright guys go back to the rice patties to stay alive.
China’s goal has long been world dominance.
Which is more Chinese propaganda aimed at Western globalists and liberals.
China will do whatever it damn well feels like within its own borders, and whatever it can get away with outside them.
The idea of any Chinese Communist listening to what “global governance” has to say is absolutely laughable.
I have a hard time reading Xi based on western media coverage. He is under tremendous pressure at home according to Asian news sources due to internal forces within their own economy and now he faces an opponent they do not understand named Trump. The usual long-term Chinese plan has been severely disrupted to the point that they, not Russia, might be the biggest “interference” in the 2020 election.
The plan was working perfectly as long as the U.S. had a globalist in charge, but the Disruptor in Chief happened and it makes them very nervous.
Correct.
South Africa......represents more than 40 percent of the worlds population.
With these two currently bosom buddies leading the charge....
How about no.
...”Chinas goal has long been world dominance”.....
By Economic force if necessary...OBOR is an initiative in which ‘China is offering predatory loans’ to developing countries around the world in exchange for help building major roads, ports, and railways. When countries fail to pay their loans, China picks up ownership of the new infrastructure, giving Beijing extensive ‘control over global commerce’.
Xi has no intentions other than BEING the head of Global Governance.
Xi suggested leaders should embrace openness and cooperation,
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Open your Firewall, Son of Chucky and then we’ll talk,
Like virtually all so called communist countries they mature as a repressive oligarchy with no regard for personal freedoms.
"Global governance" is China speak for Beijing wants to run your country, by economic force or otherwise. And they will refuse to be deterred to act on their own behalf....always.
The other BRICS nations fail to recognize that China sees itself as the leader with the others along for the ride.
Those roads are for the mining equipment to get to the mines. The railways are to ship the ore to the port. At the port, the ore is dumped into a Chinese freighter. As far as the predatory loan goes, the mine itself is probably part of the collateral.
