Trey Gowdy is a lawyer. His entire adult life has been spent as a big government Republican, who is favor of spending money and having elaborate hearings with 4 and 5 syllable words flying through the air.
And no results.
Trey Gowdy has never really been expected to produce actual results, except guilty verdicts when he was a prosecutor. Did he get people in jail for what they did, or what they plea-bargained for? I don't know, but based on his results in being in House hearings, he seems to be thunder and lightning for talk time and not much for actual punishment of bad people.
Keeping Trey Gowdy in perspective and aligning your expectations accordingly will help with future assessments, so you can set your expectations accordingly and not be disappointed. He's for show, not for results.
Up to this point I held that relatively benign view of Gowdy.
Now he can go to Hell.
