In this case i’m on the side of this CVS Customer. It’s really not any of the pharmacists business if the guy’s trying to be a girl. He has his job to do and he’s paid to fill that legal prescription. If there’s a question it should have been addressed in private, with compassion and with humility. I dont want to get caught on the side of harassing these people no matter if he wants to wear a dress and take hormones.

Above all things we need to be kind. Because it’s the leftists that are edging on cultural marxism. We dont want to be where they are.

You are assuming that the account of what happened given by this mentally ill person is accurate.

I’m not quite so quick to believe it.

I don’t disagree with you, but, I have a feeling that, there is more to the story than is being reported here. I have a hard time believing that this event happened exactly as described.

A pharmacist must question/challenge a situation they find suspicious or wrong.

If a person came in with script for a med they should not have been prescribed, the pharmacist filled it and the person died, what then?

Same thing with opiate abuse.

Me too. It’s absolutely none of the pharmacy’s business what ANY drug is for. Fill my darn prescription and shut the heck up!

It’s a good thing that this customer could complain to big corporation in order to have that pharmacist fired. How kind of CVS.

This pharmacist can open up his own store and serve customers with kindness by helping them to heal their physical and mental illnesses.

Define kindness.

Horse-pucky. The pharmacist is another line of defense catching errors. Doctors do make mistakes. Pharmacists do catch them. It's a professional symbiosis that should not be diminished cuz "feelings". And the rest of us don't want to pay the financial penalty (increased drug prices) that would result from pharmacists being required to privately consult in secure office space with patients having questions and concerns. Compassion and kindness do not replace common sense.

I agree with that, and I have no issue with what you said. My problem is with the PC culture that says cross dressing and taking hormones changes (TRANSforms) gender. It's a man that dresses like a woman and takes female hormones. I don't challenge people's liberty to dress and act the way the way they want, but I will not be forced into the ridiculous view that people can change genders. People can change their wardrobe, people can change their name. People can not change their chromosomes.

I also agree with you about being nice to people, gender dysphoria (GD), or gender identity disorder (GID) is a terrible and sad disorder.

Above all things we need to be kind.

I agree with you. We do need to be kind. But not above all things.

While we don’t have all the details of this story, it is possible that the pharmacist may have been objecting to this prescription on moral grounds. From one ethical perspective, taking medications to alter ones appearance to become more female-like is immoral because it is intentionally interfering with the functioning of normally functioning organs where there is no disease process. In that case, even though the pharmacist is not the one taking the drug, he may be cooperating in an evil by his role in filling the prescription. His decision to NOT cooperate is the exercise of his conscience rights to refuse to do harm.

Now, having said this, the place to have worked this out is not in front of the patient but with the employer in advance of any such interactions. If the employer did not respect the pharmacist’s conscience rights, then the pharmacist would need to seek a different employer who did rather than commit the immoral act.

You are correct. It is important to always be kind. But it is more important to be moral and kind. One is not being kind by participating in a morally repugnant act of self mutilation.

So you have no problem enabling and encouraging sin and perversion?

There's two principles that have to be weighed:

In this case, female hormones will cause abnormal physiological change in a male and impair normal male development and function.

If the pharmacist wasn't a trained professional with an ethical obligation to not harm patients, there would be no need to have pharmacists at all, just robots.

And suppose that's what we'll eventually come to. People who actually act on the basis of professional ethics will be unemployable.
