Watch: Officer fires through window in Las Vegas car chase An officer in Las Vegas fired through a window in a dramatic high-speed car chase last Wednesday.
The police unit released the video on Monday which showed dramatic body camera footage of an officer at the wheel, grabbing his gun, and peppering his windhsield with bullets to stop the suspect from getting away.
The chase and shootout, which occurred July 11, came after officers responded to an attempted murder call, police said.
Another police car joined the chase but was shot at by the suspects a number of times. Metropolitan Police Department Assistant Sheriff Tim Kelly said in a statement that the second officers car was hit by bullets at least twice, forcing him to abandon the chase.
He added that during the pursuit, the two suspects, Fidel Miranda, 23, and 30-year-old Rene Nunez, fired 34 shots at officers and hit several marked police vehicles.
One suspect was killed during the pursuit, while the other was left wounded.
I know you’re having a hard time, so I’ll just link you to this.

You didn’t answer my question. It was almost a miracle that no one was killed or wounded.
How do you justify shooting like that with so many people in the line of fire?
I don’t doubt he’s a good cop but he was reckless. His adrenaline took over. Bad decision making.
Again, I’m glad you’re not a cop.
The officer was acting within the guidelines of his department.
Didn’t you jump on this tread to say he was in serious trouble now?
He’s not in trouble at all.
He followed department policy and ended the problem almost single-handed.
This post presents some serious questions to you.
You still haven’t come to terms with them, other than to insult me.
Officers put their lives on the line every day for you and other U. S. Citizens. The thanks some of them get is for an armchair quarterback to post untruths on forums to trash them with.
I am honored to stand with them. Your insults are dismissed with the insults I got as a third graders, when the other kids were lofting your level of logic back then.

No, just trying to chase them down until they started shooting.........But you knew that...LOL!
If my aunt had balls she would have been my uncle........
Come on man!
I didn’t jump on the thread to condemn the cop. I strongly support the police.
I gave my opinion and it’s tough if you can’t accept that. You don’t own this or any other thread.
You’ll have to settle on disagreeing. I’m not going to go back and forth.
I’m glad you’re not a cop.
“At the point this dumb @$$ cop began firing, they passed multiple vehicles that were in the line of fire.”
I’d bet those shots didn’t hit anything worthwhile. Once he had the window rolled down, and was shooting from a few feet away? THAT was OK. But shooting a bunch of rounds through his windshield with lots of other cars around was dumb. Dumb is often mistaken for ballsy.
“You won for the dumbest post of the year.”
I defer to you and the other clowns who failed to read my follow-up post on the same page.
See 00:44 seconds at the video. The driver suspect is clearly seen existing the vehicle and heading up the stairs, but it’s only visible for a split second. Shaved head, black t-shirt and shorts.

Er the suspect is clearly seen *exiting* the vehicle...
It’s easy to miss.
“Im glad youre not a cop.”
LOL < as if that means anything to me. This officer followed the rules of engagement by his department. I support him for that and other reasons.
You still can’t grasp that you are wrong here.
You jumped on the thread to say the officer was in serious trouble now. Okay, your first post wasn’t as negative as this, but your second post you were already claiming the officer was in for it. Let’s look at your posts.
Post one: not really a post backing the officer was it
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3671639/posts?page=41#41
Post two: already moving to say the officer was in trouble
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3671639/posts?page=46#46
Post three: Now he’s endangering the lives of many people
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3671639/posts?page=50#50
Post four: by here you were off agreeing with another poster he was lucky he didn’t crash his vehicle
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3671639/posts?page=59#59
Post five: Here you ask another poster how they justify endangering people with all those stray bullets
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3671639/posts?page=95#95
At no place here did you congratulate the officer, back up the officer, or address the criminality of the perps.
Did you think that was going to go on unnoticed?
Here I challenged you on this.

Then you started going negative on me as you had the officer.
This guy was under fire in a hot pursuit, and the best you can do is trash the officer for returning fire, then trash me when I called you on it.
Actually firing through the windshield is a legitimate technique and trained in some quarters.
Sorry about that.
Btw, it was the suspect driver who exited the vehicle at the end of the vehicle pursuit and ran up the stairs and it appears he survived. It was the passenger who was shot dead after the passenger attempted to get into the driver seat.
I want you to support your position. You offer up ideas others are holding. It provides a service.
Don’t worry about it. I won’t.
Take care.
D1
Thanks. You, too.
Regards-
I noticed that you had picked up on that, and had changed my impression when reading your comments.
I appreciate you mentioning it though.
It’s a point that should be clear.
Since the shotgun (passenger) guy had probably been doing all the firing, it’s probably fitting he’s the one who died.
These guys were up to no good.
Here in the Los Angeles area we cater to these thugs, following them all over Southern California in low speed chases.
It has always been my take, that if we started taking these guys down violently, the chases would end in short order.
Everyone would be safer.
This is what happened with Rodney King. It was a high speed chase. We treated him decently until he refused to comply with commands outside the vehicle.
His passenger was taken into custody without incident.
I appreciate your congeniality.
Actually, after reading your tripe in the post I had responded to, I didn’t bother to read anything else by you. I don’t give a hoot what else you might have said.
