Defeated Rep. Crowley tries easing tensions with Ocasio-Cortez, won't endorse Pelosi

Rep. Joseph Crowley, D-N.Y., tried to ease the tensions between himself and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the insurgent Democrat who defeated the 10-term congressman in last month’s primary, after she bashed the incumbent last week for not getting his name off the ballot in the general election.

“I don't want to take anything away from her win,” Crowley said Sunday on CBS News’ “Face The Nation.” “I did not do as I preached. I didn't remind folks of my accomplishments. I just took that for granted I think.”

Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter on Thursday accusing Crowley of purposely staying in the race, after it was revealed that his name would remain on the ballot as the candidate of the lesser-known Working Families Party in November.

This commie chick won with 12% or so of the rats in that district voting. If he had a pair, he would run 3rd party and smoke her in November.

Hmmm... dictionary.com defines insurgent as:

Shoe fits.

Democrats need more representatives like Ocasio-Cortez. With 12% voter turnout, democrats are sure to win... err.. hmmm... 12% of the votes?

That’s 12% of Democrats, maybe 9% of the total voters.

This commie chick won with 12% or so of the rats in that district voting. If he had a pair, he would run 3rd party and smoke her in November.

He has no chance. He's white. NY 14 is undergoing conversion, and won't be electing any more white people (wypipo as the hip POCs say) to represent them. Here's the stats on the 14th from Ballotpedia, based on the Census:

Race[1]: 46.5% White, 11.4% Black, 16.5% Asian
Ethnicity: 46.9% Hispanic
The census doesn't include Hispanic as a race, so Hispanics have to fit themselves into one of the other race categories, and the overwhelming majority choose "white".

So, parsing the figures a little there are very few white people left in the district.

The new People of Color Majority are not interested in being represented by old white guys, no matter how PC their politics are.

And if Joseph Crowley expects some decent fair sportsmanship sort of behavior out of Marx-Girl he's stupider than he looks.

This is a big racial-spoils win, and she's going to rub his pink face it it.

It's the same all over. California's mestizo plurality are not interested in nice old Jewish ladies representing them either.

Barbara Levy Boxer wised up and left on top, and the battle to replace her was between mestizo/Latino Linda Chavez and light-skinned black-identifying mixed race Kamala Harris. Harris won.

Dianne Goldman Berman Feinstein won the primary, but was not endorsed by the Democratic Party. Ha ha ha! That's gotta hurt. Because California has the "jungle primary" system she's going to run against another Democrat. (There will be no Republican on the ballot).

Kevin Alexander Leon goes by "Kevin de León". His Wiki bio reads simply "Kevin Leon was born in Los Angeles to Andrés Leon and Carmen Osorio, of Guatemalan, Mexican descent. I think this is a nice way of saying he's a bastard "Both parents had separate families of their own when he was born." And, to increase his street cred we learn "He also spent part of his youth in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.[4]

They whole cuckservative "latinos are natural conservatives" narrative sort of fails when looking at his family life: De León has said that he did not know his father, Andres, but remembers meeting him as a boy. He currently lives in Los Angeles and has a grown daughter, Lluvia Carrasco. He has never been married.[42]Like father, like son.

My thoughts on this matchup of the wicked old gun-banning Jewish lady and the young gun-banning Latino dude is summarized by Reagan's question to his staff on being breifed on the Iran-Iraq war: "Can't they both lose?". Sadly, they can not. And while DiFi might be able to hang on for one more term (which she would be 90 years old at the end of, if she survived) the future definitely belongs to people who are "People of Color", and not Whites (or even Jews) in future California statewide races.

We've seen the future and it is "of Color".

You’re probably right, but one thing I see in Crowley’s favor is the low vote total. In 2014 he won with 47k votes (to 6k for Elizabeth Perri), which was the lowest of any CD in NY.
That same year, Timothy Bishop (CD 1) got 73k votes in a losing cause, and Dan Maffei (CD 24) got 75k votes in a losing cause.
