"Impeach him for what?" Gowdy said. "No."
"I've had my differences with Rod Rosenstein," said Gowdy, who chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. "I talk to him quite often privately, which again is a lot more constructive than the public hearings we have."

I despise this guys tired theatrical act.
President Trump nominated Rosenstein to be Deputy Attorney General on February 1, 2017, and the nomination was confirmed by the Senate on April 25, 2017.
He is a deep state hack and I bet he joined the GOP as part of a plot.
They all want Trump to end this by firing these mueller idiots so they can all, along with the media, mob up against Trump.
Exactly. Good post.
Absolutely right. President Trump doesn't have a timid bone in his body, and he always has a plan. If Rosenstein is still DAG, it means that the president still wants him there. If that judgment changes, Rosenstein will be gone. I have to assume that President Trump knows more about his plans than I do, so I am content to trust the president I voted to elect.
Gowdy, Sessions Mueller, and Rosenstein all concern me! Gowdy has issue, that he has been protecting since last year!
They will fail at this too. The game has been upped and I expect this treachery will be countered.
How many times to this have to be posted .
You have no idea that was the case ?
.
The President has Political considerations.
A White House has about 450 people on staff.
A President cannot do everything, thats crazy talk.
Its the lazy answer of peeps that have been defending Granny Sessions for so long, its not even possible to carry that on.
The FBi reports to the DOJ, and the DOJ works for the Executive branch, but Rosenstein and Sessions are doing the bidding of the Deep State.
Theyve decided to protect the Apparatus that tried the Coup.
.
Gowdy frustrates me, too, but the idea that Trump could fire Rosenstein if the House impeaches him, is faulty. The Senate would NEVER convict, then if Trump fired him for being impeached, it would look like he’s doing it to a man found not guilty. Rosenstein needs to be fired, outright, without being impeached. Trump has the right to fire him at any time, but to fire him, after the Senate fails to convict him, is just asking for serious political fallout. Conservatives support Trump, regardless, but independents and those democrats who are leaning towards supporting him, could very likely withdraw support for him AND the republican midterm candidates he campaigns for, if they see him as going against their Senators. After the midterms, he can fire Sessions, et al. We can’t risk losing the midterms, just because we’re impatient.
You are right .
This was a Sessions appointment that had to formally go thru Trumps office to get him nominated .
I know how impeachment of the President would lay out. I am not a liberal jerk.
Gowdy truly is a gop establishment hack masquerading as a conservative
The public hearings do serve one purpose; they give liberals the real story, if they watch them in toto, that they DON’T get from the MSM. Too bad we can’t glue them to their chairs, and force them to watch the whole thing, especially millennials, who, apparently, are as uninformed as a bunch of know nothing, but “no-it-all” teenagers.
> “Gowdy on Sunday said Rosenstein is a “Trump appointee” and that if “President Trump is dissatisfied with Rod Rosenstein, he can fire him with a tweet.”
That’s EXTREMELY UNWISE. This statement alone shows Gowdy is deficient between his ears.
Rosenstein is in charge of the Russia collusion witch hunt. Firing him would create a firestorm of controversy before the midterms.
The President has been advised by so many people to NOT get involved. But he says at some time he may have no choice. Obviously, he would benefit politically if the House moves forward on impeachment of Rosenstein.
The House is angry because they have been lied to time and time again. There’s not even a question that the DOJ leadership is politicized. Impeachment, in this case, is completely appropriate.
We live in bizarro land. Our government thinks it’s so important but really sucks the life out of America. I despise most of those who are the face of it.
well rosenstein is ignoring Congress and their document requests, request for witnesses and stonewalling answers... so the ball is in Congress’s court find RR in contempt then if he doesn’t cough up the documents Trump can fire him with less flack..
either Congress is good for something or they are good for nothing...
