I live near the Mississippi river in northern Illinois and they are thick as pigeons here. A little of the majestic image is lost when you see one shoulder deep in a rotting pig carcus eating lunch. Watching them catch fish is impressive, but most of the time they’re just a buzzard in a tux.
Yup, America needs a another national animal symbol, rather than the flying gut-pile eagle.
