European Council President Donald Tusk told U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday to stop berating NATO allies over military investment levels ahead of what is expected to be a fraught alliance summit. [ ]
Dear America, appreciate your allies, after all you dont have that many, Tusk, a former Polish prime minister, said after a signing statement on more cooperation between the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
As European Council president, Tusk serves as the chairman when EU leaders meet at summits.
Even while in the air, Trump kept up the attack. He said in a Twitter post that a trade deficit with the European Union makes it impossible for our farmers and workers and companies to do business in Europe
and then they want us to happily defend them through NATO, and nicely pay for it. Just doesnt work!

Soviet Union.
Respect is a two way street.
So can’t there be USA versions of perfumes?
Hey Scottie. Well build it
You just pay for it
And they seem to forget that if Russia or whomever was to attack, they would be the first line of defense. Sure, go ahead, tell us to leave-well be able to spend that peace dividend on our own people, or build up defenses in more friendly, strategic regions, while Europe will have to fight on two fronts-foreign, against invaders, and domestic, their own people who had gotten used to cradle-to-grave welfare.
Pinch play between US, England, and Russia. Russia at that time was supposedly the lesser monster. Ah, but pride swallowed up the Bear.
Long past time. It is also long past time to tariff the crap out of their cars and other stuff too.
Well of course we cant make the ones which belong to French (primarily French) perfume houses. The perfumes which are made here, would have to abide by the EU (IRFA) regulations in order to be sold in the EU market.
Even perfumes made in, for instance, the Middle East, must abide by the regulations if they want to sell them in the EU.
There are small niche perfume houses everywhere which disregard the regulations, and sell to their domestic (non EU) market.
But wonderful, classic perfumery houses such as Guerlain, Dior, and Chanel are a shadow of their former selves.
Until then....

And the horse you rode in on.
They would seem to stand to make a killing by opening up US factories.
The Poles are some of our best friends in Europe, they loved Reagan, and Trump probably more.
This snarky Tusk fellow’s comments about Trump and America, probably doesn’t set that well with his countrymen.
Trump: “With friends like you, who needs enemies?”
You know what... Europe talks a lot..why don’t they defend themselves? Maybe the Chinese can hel you cover the costs. I’m sure they’ll take you over Russia... won’t they?
I don't know about "enemies", but the EU was set up explicitly as an alternative market to the US. So, yes, they do want to compete with us and be better than us.
If the price of having "friends" is that we have a big difference in tariffs and trade balances, I think we could stand to have fewer friends.
I hope there 151 billion trade surplus will cover the cost of their defense in perpetuity.
Not only so, but Poland, along with Hungary and Austria, stand against the EU. This pro-EU Tusk fellow’s sentiments doesn’t jive with that of his own country. Poland stands with Trump against the EU.
Take note of the name of the alternative market: the social market economy. That’s imposed by treaty on all member states, but it originated in Adenauer’s West Germany. The only way it can be “better than us” is with the help of the left in the USA and their copying of the same method here to the detriment of the free market, thus depressing our competitiveness.
They also want to be a military power, so that is something that has to be prevented.
Seeing the high “European” post Tusk holds now, it’s plain that he has a lot of contempt for his own people.
Yes, indeed, they have become accustomed to the welfare/gravy train. Impossible to think “two fronts, etc.”
Life will be tougher for them in the future.
