Probably most of the 49% od democrats that don't trust to media feel that way because they think it's too conservative.
It's also just as possible that President Trump, while performing due diligence on his list of nominees, consulted with Justice Kennedy about Kavanaugh, told Kennedy that he was at the top of his list, and Kennedy then felt comfortable about announcing his retirement after that discussion.
I saw random baseless speculation that Thomas (70) and Breyer (turns 80 next month) could retire together under the same "Trump deal", the two nominees get approval if Breyer gets to name his replacement from Trump's List (a centrist is the best the Left can hope for anyway). If so, that makes the Court 3/3/3 (L-to-R) after 4 Trump appointments. I think the Left would go for that in a heartbeat (was 4/2/3 after Obama), and that Trump would take it to avoid the Senate battles (depending on how NOV goes... not looking stellar at the moment... even or +1 right now). A perfectly balanced bench is also tough to scream about, for anyone.
How’s that any different? Not all deals require the handshake. Both seem to be honorable men. A simple “that would please me” from Kennedy could be sufficient.
The most surprising thing about that chart is that the jack@ss party is only 51%.
That’s encouraging, in and of itself. That could mean that as few as 25% of voters trust the MSM!
And so it begins. One silly story after another. It is designed to sow doubts and anger in liberal hearts.
The fact that this stuff smears the reputation of two honorable men does not concern these people one iota.
NBC strikes again. Someday when the phoney and self serving news agencies are collating financial data to present to a bankruptcy court, they may experience an epiphany... we underestimated the intelligence of the American people.
The Left are masters at putting conservatives on the defensive. What we need to do is take an Alinsky type approach.
Example:
Q. When did you stop beating your wife?
A. Who said I stopped?
You get the general drift.
Yes. If he’d chosen someone else, then they would have alleged that was a fix.
And I’m sure this has never happened before
I also wrote on here yesterday:
“Expect a special counsel to be appointed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the appointment of Kavanaugh with a view to possible impeachment.”
Next, look for NBC to report based on my comment that Acting Attorney General Rod Rosenstein will expand the mandate of Special Counsel Robert Mueller III to investigate whether Russia colluded with President Trump and Justice Kennedy to interfere in the selection of Supreme Court nominee Bret Kavanaugh!
I don’t know if this is factually true or not, but I tend to believe it. Yet, in the end, it’s totally the President’s prerogative regardless of anything else.
Kavanaugh is his boy.
Isn’t Mueller already busy looking into the OJ simpson murders to see if Trump was in the neighborhood wearing Bruno Magi shoes?d
Either get informed low info voters or zip your lips, kindly please!
Mccain came out in support of Kavanaugh. Not necessarily a bad thing, in this case. Even if he is establishment, he is known to be a strict constitutionalist. Even if he follows Kennedy faithfully, Kennedy was right leaning much of the time, and Trump will get at least 2 more nominees -— Thomas is anxious to retire, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he announces that as soon as Kavanaugh is confirmed, unless it is determined it would be better to wait til after the midterms. Plus, RBG can’t last much longer, so there’s another one. (She may even be forced to quit, because she has been found to say she doesn’t think the Constitution matters.)
