John McCain To Resign Senate Seat on the 4th of July, Says Aide. Cindy McCain Offered his Seat

Former Republican Nominee for President wants to avoid a defeat for Trump's SCOTUS nominee

Cindy McCain has been offered her husband's Senate seat

Senator John McCain will resign his US Senate seat on July 4, 2018, says an aide who asked not to be named because he was not authorized to speak to the press.

"In the end, it was about Kennedy resigning from the Supreme Court," said the aide. "Confirming a (SCOTUS) replacement before the election is considered in the interest of the national Republican party, so that it doesn't become an issue for Dems to run on in every race," said the aide, meaning every race for Senate or Congress.

The Aide indicated that the Senator wanted to wait until June 1 to resign, so that his seat would not be on the ballot along with retiring Jeff Flake. Republican Gov. Doug Ducey will appoint a Senator to serve until the 2020 election.

The aide said that Ducey has quietly offered McCain's seat to Cindy, but the 64 year old wife of Senator John McCain has made no decision as of yet. "Understandably, she doesn't want to think about it," he added.

Hopefully the info is wrong that Ducey offered the seat to the BOD Mrs McShame, or if true, may she refuse! PUKE WHat is this "wifey gets to be Senator" crap anyway? Where did this b.s. come from?

Cindy will be gone in the first election, if not sooner when AZ finds out about no names skeletons.

Maybe. But, imagine the damage she can do, in the meantime.

“I believe Ducey has specifically said that Cindy will NOT be chosen.”

Ducey stated that on May 31.

except there wasn’t a shut down.

He simply said:

“What he’s got from me is my support and my prayers. To me, there is no vacancy. He is our senator until 2022.”

Why not? Edith Wilson became President after Woodrow had a stroke and lost his ability to communicate or think clearly.

To me, Freepers believing this is OK indicates the debased state of the republic, the triumph of sentimentality over reason and constitutional order.

Why wouldn’t a devoted wife want to carry on the work of the husband who President Trump said “was not a hero” because he was captured and imprisoned by the Viet Cong. I strongly suspect that her husband wants her to do this.

Wait a minute... isn’t July 4th all about our revolting against those who rule via inheritance?

In Arizona, senate vacancies are filled by Gubernatorial appointment.

In 36 states, the governor makes an appointment to fill a U.S. Senate vacancy, and the appointee serves until the next regularly-scheduled, statewide general election. The person elected at that next regularly-held general election serves for the remainder of the unexpired term, if any. If the term was set to expire at that general election, the person elected serves a full six-year term.

"So now Senate seats are offered to family members. The Constitution truly is a piece of parchment paper in a museum. I cry for this great republic!"

It's nothing new.

"....Plenty of women have inherited their husband's seats before - 47 to be exact, 8 in the Senate and 39 in the House. But according to Debbie Walsh of the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University, in all those instances the woman took over the seat after her husband had passed away..."

This will be a little different in that her husband is still alive but apparently barely so?

He has to be present, in person, in DC, to vote, face timing from a gurney while in a coma and on morphine doesn’t count, hence Cindy.

There’s a video of McCain making an emergency visit to the Senate floor to vote no on repeal of Obamacare.

The way he did it was repugnant showing an awful character. He came into the chamber and without saying a word, his mouth gaping open, his eyes darting around, he held his fist out with a thumbs down and did a 360 with his thumb down. This delighted the democrats, their liar media was ecstatic and ran with it for a week.

To understand McCain is to understand that he has an ‘R’ by his name only because AZ is a Red State and because he took over Barry Goldwater’s seat.

How does he get elected?

His campaign draws out democrats to crossover in the GOP primary to nominate McCain as the GOP Senate candidate. He destroys any other GOP primary runners this way and also by running ads nonstop alleging wrongdoing by his GOP opponents even if not true.

So he gets the nomination and after that, it’s a cakewalk for him to be reelected.

In sum, McCain is a democrat with GOP cover.

He is truly an awful person.

If Flake votes no as will McCain or his wife Cindy, then Trump’s nominee will be not be confirmed even with Pence.

Right now, it’s a very safe bet to think that Flake is getting all kinds of deal offers in return for his NO vote. Maybe Netflix will get him something on the level of the $65,000,000 deal they gave Obama. On the other hand, the Trump camp may release some actionable dirt on Flake that will have him vote YES. At this point I could care less what is done to Flake to get his YES vote, he is scum just like more than half the Senate is.

John McCain to America: “From hell’s heart I stab at thee; for hate’s sake I spit my last breath at thee.”

With apologies to Captain Ahab and Herman Melville.
