John McCain To Resign Senate Seat on the 4th of July, Says Aide. Cindy McCain Offered his Seat

Former Republican Nominee for President wants to avoid a defeat for Trump's SCOTUS nominee

Cindy McCain has been offered her husband's Senate seat

Senator John McCain will resign his US Senate seat on July 4, 2018, says an aide who asked not to be named because he was not authorized to speak to the press.

"In the end, it was about Kennedy resigning from the Supreme Court," said the aide. "Confirming a (SCOTUS) replacement before the election is considered in the interest of the national Republican party, so that it doesn't become an issue for Dems to run on in every race," said the aide, meaning every race for Senate or Congress.

The Aide indicated that the Senator wanted to wait until June 1 to resign, so that his seat would not be on the ballot along with retiring Jeff Flake. Republican Gov. Doug Ducey will appoint a Senator to serve until the 2020 election.

The aide said that Ducey has quietly offered McCain's seat to Cindy, but the 64 year old wife of Senator John McCain has made no decision as of yet. "Understandably, she doesn't want to think about it," he added.

So now Senate seats are offered to family members. The Constitution truly is a piece of parchment paper in a museum. I cry for this great republic!

The appointment of this traitor’s wife would be yet another “finger” to the American people.

Kelli Ward would be a great appointment. She’s conservative and a rock solid supporter of Trump and his agenda.

Good for America!

McCain sold out to the globalists. Glad he’s exiting the political stage.

But suppose he, as was suggested awhile ago, appoints himself to the seat. Then he doesn’t need to worry about losing the election.

Ahhh, true. Geeze, just when you think politics in AZ can’t get any worse. God help us if the democrat wins the governorship. I plan on voting for Ken Bennett anyway.

COUNTrecount, this looks like a clickbait-for-ad-revenue website.

The article is based off a VOX article linked in it speculating that this will happen, not that it will happen. The web pages look amateurish for a newspaper of any kind. If there is such a plan, no one would leak it to a no-name weekly in California. If it is true, it will most likely be leaked to a Arizona newspaper or the MSM first.

The owner was suspended from the California bar and surrendered his law license for ethics violations.

Almost there, we are getting closer to the real story. In Missouri, the dead vote and they win elections.

Here’s the story:

“In 2000, Carnahan ran in the election against incumbent Republican John Ashcroft to become a United States Senator. It was a heated and intense campaign, in which Carnahan traveled all over Missouri to garner support in what was a very close race. However, early in the evening of October 16, the night before a presidential debate held at Washington University in St. Louis just three weeks before the election, the twin-engine Cessna airplane he was flying on, which was piloted by his son Randy, lost control in rainy and foggy conditions and crashed on a forested hillside near Goldman, Missouri, only about 35 miles (56 km) south of St. Louis. All three on board the plane (Mel and Randy Carnahan and Chris Sifford, the governor’s campaign advisor and former chief of staff) were killed in the crash.

Lieutenant Governor Roger B. Wilson ascended to the governorship and served out the balance of Carnahan’s term, which ended in January 2001. Because Missouri election law would not allow Carnahan’s name to be removed from the November 7, 2000, ballot, the campaign chose Carnahan’s widow, Jean Carnahan, to unofficially become the new Democratic candidate. Wilson promised to appoint her to the seat, if it became vacant as a result of Mel Carnahan’s win in the election. Carnahan’s campaign continued using the slogan “I’m Still with Mel.” A Senate first, Carnahan posthumously won, by a 2% margin. Jean Carnahan was then appointed to the Senate and served until November 2002, when she was defeated by a 1% margin in a special election by Republican James Talent.”
