Even if the leftist gets elected in Mexico (which he will), I think Trump will be honest with him and I think he’ll respect Trump. The problem in controlling Mexican border “immigrants” is that they’re not Mexicans, for the most part, but Central Americans, Middle Easterners and Chinese that Mexico lets the Cuban-controlled drug gangs ferry through the country. They are not allowed to stay in Mexico, btw. But Mexico lets them pass through.
That’s got to stop. As for Mexicans, a reasonable temporary work agreement would deal with any problem at that end because Mexico actually doesn’t want its people leaving. There are villages there that need the young men who left to work elsewhere because of Mexico’s corrupt, socialist union and gang controlled economy. If you can call it that.
So maybe Trump will make Mexico take a long hard look at itself. Mexican politicians have made their careers by attacking the big bad US and there has generally been no blowback from us or cost to them for this cynical manipulation of their own people. They’ve got to grow up.

But for whatever it’s worth, the “anchor baby” used to be of minimal concern because he or she would still have to wait until of legal age of majority to serve as a valid sponsor for his or her parents. Action at that time scale involved a lot of patience and endurance that would only be undergone by people really wanting to go through the trouble.
What the “anchor baby” shouldn’t serve for is an instant ticket in for the parents. There will be much wailing about separating children and parents, and the answer should be that at least under some circumstances, the choice is between exercising the USA citizenship rights and being with the birth parents.

For some stupid reason I though we had the laws of a soverign nation and just like anywhere else in the world you had to have permission to get in and stay in the country. Otherwise, they throw you out or make it so painful that nobody else in their right ming would ever consider illegal entry.
That is the way the rest of the world works. Try it and see what it gets you. Why not here?

An invasion is an invasion whether it’s 10 or 10,000. If someone storms the border and enters without asking, the President already has a right, and a duty, to repel them using all necessary force.
It has been a while, but I remember the cost to run a wetback across Lake Amistad in Del Rio, TX was around $90 to $125 per head.
Sweet operation. BP never patrolled the lake late at night and they could cross pretty much without problems. The old sheriff used to turn a blind eye to the drug traffic as well.
