On Thursdays broadcast of MSNBCs Morning Joe, Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) stated that Senate Democrats dont have the power to play hardball on the nominee to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy.
Co-host Mika Brzezinski asked, [W]hat is the gameplan? And you are saying you dont think you should play hardball the way the Republicans did?
Durbin answered, Well, we dont have the power. I mean, if we had the power and the authority to make those decisions, its one thing. But under the rules under the rules with Justice Gorsuch, in a matter of three months or so, he went from being nominated by the White House to being approved by the United States Senate. In the meantime, there was vetting, investigation, hearing, questions, votes in the committee, consideration on the floor. But it was on a path where the majority controlled the outcome, and at this point, we dont have the majority.

The Democrats can’t stop any nominee.
Bush League Republicans can.
Bush League Republicans must become extinct before the Republic does.
Except Utah.
I saw patty Murray last Night on some news show and wow. She literally could be peppermint patty.
Someone should remind these media idiots of what Durbin left out. They can’t play hardball now because they already did that in 2013, when they changed the rule that now is going to bite them in the a$$.
Media people are know-nothings, even on the things they report.
He’s telling his base not to blame him as he can’t do anything.
Never happen.
MSNBC, Dick is trying to tell you that there is no do-over for the 2016 election; yelling, screaming and protesting will not produce a liberal judge. Activist judges cannot block the President's nomination or the Senate's confirmation of the President's nominee.
The only way to stop the President's nominee would be if RINOs defect and prevent the needed majority vote.
Game plan ? Well, it appears that their blood lust for killing babies, will not be contained. So the plan is for violent attacks and open warfare as the minions of hell all get their marching orders from the She-robot Queen. ‘Kill all those who threaten to end our sacrifices’. Sort of like the same order the Aztec leaders vomited when the Conquistadors arrived. Lol.
Hey Dickie! It sure sucks to be you!
Collins and Murkowski worry me.
Corker and Flake may hate the President but aren’t going to sink a conservative SCJ nominee.
The honorable thing for McCain to do would be for him to resign so someone could be appointed for a yes vote. Knowing McCain that’s a stretch.
If there aren’t a couple of Democrat senators voting yes they will be kissing their election chances goodbye so maybe we can have a couple of Republican defectors and still get a conformation.
I was thinking about Robert Bork today. Thats when the politicization of the courts became the standard in my opinion. What a loss. He would have made an excellent Supreme.
I loved Reagan but I think he was caught off guard by the level of vitriol. Trump will not be. And that is where Trump outshines Reagan. He is way tougher in this aspect.
I concur that is when the vitriol began. Demoncrats knew Roe was in danger then as they do now.
Hoisted by their own petard.
Senate Democrats pass “nuclear option”

“In the next election the GOP should pick up about 5 Senate seats.”
It should be more like 10, but the GOPE is trying for all it’s worth to loose the House and the Senate! I mean this is the chance of a lifetime, what with 27 RATs and Pseudo RATS up for election in the Senate and only 8 Pubbies. That said, right now I’d settle for five, because I’m looking for one or two ( or maybe more) SCOTUS nominations to come between now and 2020. Imagine a SCOTUS with only two feckless b!tches on the Left.
“It is the Republican senators who make me worry. Corker, Collins, Flake, and McCain would love to sabotage Trump.”
Well Flake says he’s not going to obstruct the SCOTUS nomination, and McCain isn’t going to get to vote from his coffin. The one’s to watch are the “Two Horsewomen of the Apocalypse,” Collins and Murky! They are pro-abortion freaks!
Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, who also supports abortion, issued a statement hailing Kennedy for h[olding] the court together and d[oing] right by the Constitution, suggesting that she would like his replacement to rule similarly. It is my longstanding practice to carefully scrutinize the qualifications of judicial nominees and to cast an independent vote.

Uh huh. That means he has some tricky stuff up his sleeve and if the Turtle gets wind of it he’s not gonna be able to pull it off. I’ve played too much Poker with guys that try to bad mouth their own hand to buy that crap.
I think the Trump voters are going to vote in 2018 and hand the Democrats and GOPe another crushing defeat.
If we can put in 4 more SC judges, we can set Liberalism back a generation.
