No, the correct analogy is Velázquez defeating nine term liberal Jewish Congressman Stephen Solarz in 1992.

White liberals will have a hard time holding on to districts that are becoming increasingly Hispanic. They will pay the price of the changing demographics of the country, especially urban areas.
