So give him his f@#!ing wall. He won the election. He is owed this. It may never be completed; it may not work, as hoped. But it is now the only way to reassure a critical mass of Americans that mass immigration is under control, and the only way to make any progress under this president. And until the white working and middle classes are reassured, we will get nowhere. Don’t give it to him for nothing, of course. It should come with a full path to citizenship for all DACA immigrants, as in the proposed deal in January that Trump first liked and then reneged on, under Miller’s toxic influence. But it should also go bigger: a legislative fix for Flores; massive new funding for detention facilities, humane family-friendly housing, and, above all, much more money for the immigration legal system, now completely overwhelmed by asylum cases. If Democrats can show they want to deal with the humanitarian problem as a whole, and are willing to compromise on the wall, they’ll be in a much stronger position going forward than in the recent past.*
I have my suspicions that this child crisis was orchestrated to pressure republicans to support the "more moderate" immigration bill (and to cover up the IG testimony of course).
But it didn't work out that way. The conservative immigration bill fell only 20 votes short, and the "more moderate" bill seems to be doomed this week (if it's not pulled altogether).
I think they are learning that the all their usual tricks and intimidations are not moving the needle in their direction.
And once Ryan and Boehner's moderates are gone in November, Amnesty for ANY illegals is a dead goose.
They're realizing that they're up against the wall with Trump (and the electorate)

The dems were all against this. The GOP was sold out on this.

I was once willing to compromise with the vile DACA bunch with an average age of 26 years, far too many of them with criminal records and falling far short of the average educational achievements of their same age group in America. But I've changed my mind after seeing all the hate and anarchy they wish to cause in America. Too many on public assistance and the high achievers are far too few.
Throw them all out and let them get in line at Citizen Servcies in Mexico etc. If they have excelled at something which benefits America, great, welcome them in. But the lion's share of these bums aren't people who add value to our country.

In 1986, the Left promised Reagan that they would fund and build a border wall if he signed their Amnesty bill. He did. They didn't. Thus 3.2 million illegals were given citizenship, and their births rates are sky high... and more illegals started coming soon afterwards, since they have seen how the Democrats will continue to lie, cheat, and steal to get more of them here.
And the local sanctuary city rat politicians will vow to keep them illiterate unskilled and a dependent voting class!
