Conservative columnist George Will is making the argument to vote against Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections.
In a piece published Friday in the Washington Post, Will says that President Trump's "zero tolerance" policy at the border was "the most telegenic example of misrule" and it provided fresh if redundant evidence for the principle by which independents and moderate Republicans should vote.
That principle he says is that the number of Republicans in office must be substantially reduced.
"The principle: The congressional Republican caucuses must be substantially reduced. So substantially that their remnants, reduced to minorities, will be stripped of the Constitutions Article I powers that they have been too invertebrate to use against the current wielder of Article II powers," Will wrote. "They will then have leisure time to wonder why they worked so hard to achieve membership in a legislature whose unexercised muscles have atrophied because of people like them."
Will targets House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and many other Republican lawmakers for serving as the "presidents poodles."
"Not because James Madisons system has failed but because todays abject careerists have failed to be worthy of it," Will added. "Congressional Republicans (congressional Democrats are equally supine toward Democratic presidents) have no higher ambition than to placate this president."

Trump must be getting close to flushing the whole Deep State into the Anacostia River
Little Willie needs to stop writing and practice throwing a baseball... A skill he didn’t master either but not one to angry anyone.
Why is this idiots opinion more “important” than anyone else’s on this thread?
So enforcing the law is “misrule”?
Should sticked to baseball.
George Will, your such great leader and strong conservative... NOT..!!
I found him repulsive years ago. So it is conservative to favour open borders, gun control, and other drive by/Democrat talking points? Only his little dreamworld.
George Will is one of the people that consider us “worthless POS’s”
When the republicans retain control of the congress in November, he’ll be screaming his wig off!
Stick to your long-winded baseball stories.
George Will = big government, open borders, globalist poodle, aka, RINO stooge.
So Trump enforcing the law as written is misrule. You just went full George Will. Never go full George Will.
George Will is of the Fake News Media’s pet fake conservatives.
George Will is an intelligent and articulate fool, a living example of the difference between education and wisdom, between knowledge and common sense. Professor Will has marvelous credentials - Oxford and Princeton - yet he managed not to learn much about freedom or about the real world while collecting all of that detailed information in those two lovely university towns.
Looking forward to the day when George’s column are only published in the local coupon clipper throwaway junk mail.
Didn’t he also say “I’m voting for H->”?
Too bad he wasn’t taken out by the Vapors the Night Trump won.
“””””May George Wills girly-girl bowtie come to life and strangle his little pencil neck.”””””
The bow tie makes him look like a fag, Jim.
Did he mention that President Trump should allow other laws to be broken as well? If these clowns think immigration laws are meant to be ignored then maybe we should ignore the tax laws and stop paying those.
Designated Will’s home as a holding tank for MS-13 Dreamers seems reasonable to me.
He’s such a genius this guy. Obvious he was a deep state CIA paid shrill all along.
