Former Newsweek Editor Jon Meacham on Trump: 'As If George Wallace Had Won in 1968'
Newsbusters ^ | June 20, 2018 | P.J. Gladnick

He didn't go full Hitler as many of his fellow leftists do in comparing President Donald Trump to the Nazi dictator but liberal historian Jon Meacham attempted to pull a sort of half-Hitler with his George Wallace comparison on Wednesday's Morning Joe. Meacham who likes to portray himself as the voice of reason comes off as unhinged with his comparison of Trump to the Democrat former governor of Alabama.

As editor of Newsweek, Meacham's idiotic policies led to that publication being sold for a buck.

Howie Carr spent some time telling us that Meacham lives in Belle Meade TN, a very exclusive suburb where Al Gore also lived.

On Morning Joe today, Meacham condemned President Trump’s notion that a country without borders is no country. Instead, Meacham loftily insisted:

“Where I come from, the way you define a nation is not about how you keep people out, but how you treat the country itself, how you treat the rest of the world.”

That made me wonder: where does Meacham “come from?” Turns out, Meacham lives in Belle Meade, TN, a super-exclusive enclave where the per capita income is “by far the highest in the state and among the highest in the nation.” Oh, and it’s 98.64% lily-white.

I don’t read his rag. That was the first time I voted. I recall most of the special forces NCO’s and officers at CCS liked Wallace’s VP Gen Lemay. We needed more bombs and he said more bombs. I sent my ballot in from Ban Me Thout East.

Dad was in Vietnam when he voted for Wallace. Wallace said if some hippies laid in front of his car, he’d5 put it in drive.

= = = = = = = = = = = =

We knew that PDT was heading in the right direction when he ‘said’
You call me a Nazi and Hitler then you want me to take your guns away..

‘WE’ get some loser like a ‘David Duke’ that proclaims himself R and ‘they’ come down on us like stink on $hiite yet WE get put in the same bracket as Wallace, Faubus etal and they take the Byrds of the world and sanctify them, ‘excusing’ the dolts actions as childhood pranks or the like...

IF IT WEREN’T FOR DOUBLE STANDARDS, LIBERALS WOULD HAVE NO STANDARDS AT ALL....Chris Plante...

When George Wallace encountered a long-haired heckler who was attempting to interrupt his discourse, he replied, "'You need a haircut. I thought you had a barbers' strike here for a moment.'"

I could picture Donald Trump responding to a heckler the same way.

I sure as heck hope he is not the late Dr. William F. Meacham’s son. The Dr. was perhaps the top neurosurgeon in the 70’s-90’s. He was called when Reagan was shot. I was blessed to see him for a consult as the lady I dated then was a top MD’s ex. He had Ray Hester and Dr. Johnston do my lumbar spine surgery. Vanderbilt has a Meacham award named for him. There is also a Meacham Society.

No it is not.

It is however, more like Ross Perot gets another run at things, after America has been COMPLETELY sold out for the last generation and a half.

It is, in a way, a lot like that.

Apparently not. He's originally from Chattanooga and isn't mentioned in William Meacham's obituary.

I used to watch "Charlie Rose" back when I was younger. The thing that put me off was that he'd always have hack writers from Time and Newsweek like Jon Meacham, Evan Thomas, and Walter Isaacson coming on to opine about everything under the sun, like they had some special knowledge about everything.

Thanks. I can never repay Dr. Meacham for his help.

David Duke was a Democrat and an Independent before he was a RINO but as with Nanny Bloomberg (who is spending $80,000,000 to put the Democrats in control of Congress) he’ll forever be a Republican.
