This idiot never won an Oscar. He was nominated for the "Easy Rider" screenplay, plus for best actor in "Ulee's Gold" and won neither.
He did win a Golden Globe in 1998 for "Ulee's Gold", which wasn't a bad film but I'll never watch anything he does ever again.

I’ve have not watched ANYTHING he’s done, EVER. I never cared a thing about him or his trashy sister, Hanoi Jane. They could both fall of the planet and I wouldn’t give a damn.
