Complete Headline: Starbucks sinks after announcing a weaker-than-expected sales forecast and plans to close over 100 stores next year (SBUX)
Starbucks shares fell by as much as 5% in after-hours trading Tuesday after the company announced a third-quarter sales forecast that was weaker than analysts had expected.
Global same-store sales, at locations open for at least one year, were projected to rise 1%, weaker than the forecast for 2.9% growth according to Bloomberg.
Starbucks also announced a number of strategic changes. Notably, as from 2019, it plans to shift its focus for new stores away from areas where it already has a strong presence and to underserved markets. The company plans to close about 150 underperforming locations in 2019, up from its average pace of up to 50 closures every year, the company said.

I am embarrassed to admit that ten weeks ago I decided, after 12 years to stop patronizing Starbucks for two reasons: submission to racial blackmail, and continued confusion as to whether they are a coffee store or justice warriors funded by the ever increasing prices for my coffee beverage.
I've failed. Reducing my consumption by 80% is not success. But I'm working on it and am determined to make that 100%.
The very few times I now visit and what is now an abused public restroom has redoubled my determination to make make my patronage 00%.
For Starbucks to close all their stores would be a small help.
The ceo was pathetic with his begging for forgiveness on TV. He acted unfairly firing the female manager. He is bankrupting his stores. Perfect qualifications for running for president as a socialist.
Starbucks saturation: Each store now has almost 4 other Starbucks within 1 mile.

Liberal leftist Executives only manage the decline. Remember that when buying individual stocks.
You get an A plus for cracking the code of the Starbuck’s gate communities.
Great point. Use Starbucks to detain those children separated by their parents.
Over expansion like Subway has definitely happened.
Now their Social Justice Warrior mentality will be ripping out their financial guts.
The SB’s far away from the so called homeless will survive.
However, the managerial pressure to raise their sale’s volume will be incredible.
Also, the public will not tolerate raising the prices of their expensive coffee to handle the lost revenue in their SJW shops.
“The stores selected for closing will be the ones most exposed to high homeless traffic.”
Bingo we have a winner.
Ok, Who wants to go halfsies with me on a coffee company that celebrates Americanism?
“I tried to order beans awhile back and discovered they closed their online store. That was bizarre to me, since thats how I came to know them”
SB just sold off their entire retail bean operation to Nestles ...
“I was in the Detroit Airport last year waiting and needed a non-sugar ice tea. So I walk into Starbucks there and ordered the large sized black tea (non-sugared). It was some ridiculous price of $3.90”
You got a deal, “AIRPORT”
As of 2018, the company operates 28,218 locations worldwide.
They are concentrating on national markets and not just the USA.
Example in China they have some 2,800 stores and plan for 5,000
stores by 2021.

The Bush Rule: “Pi****** off your Base is NOT a winning plan”
I learned the following because I was a contract engineer. So I was interviewing for a lot for jobs. I went from the worst interviewer to one who could just about always get a job offer, just based on experience.
My advice to young people (I have helped about 6 or 7 so far)
1. (This is the big one.) Never say “no” to any question. Always divert. So, if you are asked if you have experience with X, answer “I don’t, but I have experience with Y or I know based on my experience I could be trained.” Just never leave a hanging “no” to any question.
2. All experience, all previous jobs, all previous bosses, all previous teachers and all schooling was great. Never be negative about any of them.
3. Use reflection. If the job description says “rotating equipment engineer”, then use that terminology in your resume’ and your oral statements.
4. Never lie.
5. If you don’t smoke, let them know. They can’t ask but you can volunteer the information. A non-smoker will be way ahead of a smoker in the long run.
6. What are your weaknesses? “I have trouble working on a team where some of the others are not pulling their weight.’
7. Do you have questions for me? Yes, when do I start?
Thanks so much. Excellent points. I’ll be showing it to my son.
Nestle owns 3/4 of the world, makes sense.
Winning! Starbucks has horrible coffee and it is a SJW organization.
JoMa
Oh no!!! Where are pretentious jerks supposed to get their coffee now?
This is what happens when you turn your stores into homeless shelters. This is great, I’m all for something that accelerates Starbucks’ demise. Their answer for any problem is to go hard left, that’s never good for business. They can go hang out with the Bernies and soon-to-be-unemployed NFL players and have a good cry about how unfair the world is.
Schedenfreude.
No company does more virtue signaling than Starbucks.
