Complete Headline: Starbucks sinks after announcing a weaker-than-expected sales forecast and plans to close over 100 stores next year (SBUX)
Starbucks shares fell by as much as 5% in after-hours trading Tuesday after the company announced a third-quarter sales forecast that was weaker than analysts had expected.
Global same-store sales, at locations open for at least one year, were projected to rise 1%, weaker than the forecast for 2.9% growth according to Bloomberg.
Starbucks also announced a number of strategic changes. Notably, as from 2019, it plans to shift its focus for new stores away from areas where it already has a strong presence and to underserved markets. The company plans to close about 150 underperforming locations in 2019, up from its average pace of up to 50 closures every year, the company said.

People are getting tired of waiting in line for overpriced, incorrectly made, bad tasting coffee beverages.
Plans to close over 100 locations...
Hmmm...let me guess...
***************
I’ll bet you could identify most of them without even knowing anything about their customer traffic.
The stores selected for closing will be the ones most exposed to “high homeless traffic”.
“As a Capitalist Pig, it pains me to wish doom on anyone contributing to the American economy, but I really, really wouldnt mind if these idiots go completely under and soon....”
It was just announced on Varney & Co., that Shariabucks is in the process of closing 150 “underperforming” locations. Looks like all this SJW $hit is having a negative effect on their business. It’s what happens when a Secular Progressive Capo is made the CEO of a going business. Progressivism tends to drive these “business leaders” to vacate their wallets.
never have darkened the door of one of these crapholes, and never will
good riddance to bad trash
” $15 per hour minimum wages in its most lucrative markets are pushing it along to its grave. “
And isn’t it poetic justice that this $15 stuff started out in Seattle, birthplace of Shariabucks!
They built one on a corner next to an office building we own about 5 years ago. We had to meet a tenant there to discuss some ongoing business last week. We never go there for coffee, but ended up having to have one for the sake of the meeting. What swill. Just hope the building get’s “repurposed” to something better when SB fails.
Cold Brew is the way to go...best coffee ever..great ice coffee
some stores are so popular that you can’t buy coffee because there are so many people. However, the coffee is not as good at the store down the block so no one goes there
Brilliant analysis, I will be stealing this!!!
The more it sinks, the better.
Yep, the saying is “Get Woke, Go Broke”....
I wont wait in those lines and risk getting bugs.
I tried to order beans awhile back and discovered they closed their online store. That was bizarre to me, since that’s how I came to know them (before they had a store on every corner).
Out of curiosity, what was he doing wrong and what advice did you offer that changed him?
Die, Starbucks, Die!
Thanks for your kind words - - It’s yours - pass the ideas along...
Starbucks has a fevah and the only hope is more liberal indoctrination.
How to have a Starbucks experience right in your own home:
Burn a pot of coffee.
Set a $5 dollar bill on fire.
Shout out your name wrong.
Enjoy?
I watched this happen to a store that was ‘selling’ donations to green energy groups and other liberal causes. Clerks were ‘required’ to ask every customer for a donation and if you declined there was a register key they pushed saying so. Therefore they have your name etc. as declining.
The clerks were livid they had to ask customers for donations.
But, Sir, this a Starbucks!
Surface! Surface!
The only problem with my new plan of avoiding Starbucks is having to get my coffee at Cinnabon and NOT buying one of their beautiful and wonderfully-smelling buns! It takes deep courage and commitment to participate in a personal boycot, but im handling it well.
