Complete Headline: Starbucks sinks after announcing a weaker-than-expected sales forecast and plans to close over 100 stores next year (SBUX)
Starbucks shares fell by as much as 5% in after-hours trading Tuesday after the company announced a third-quarter sales forecast that was weaker than analysts had expected.
Global same-store sales, at locations open for at least one year, were projected to rise 1%, weaker than the forecast for 2.9% growth according to Bloomberg.
Starbucks also announced a number of strategic changes. Notably, as from 2019, it plans to shift its focus for new stores away from areas where it already has a strong presence and to underserved markets. The company plans to close about 150 underperforming locations in 2019, up from its average pace of up to 50 closures every year, the company said.

I think this whole thing was planned. Lefty Howard Shultz created this mess which somehow ends up with him sending hundreds of millions of dollars to ERIC HOKDER for sensitivity training???? The guy is now talking if running for office. Convenient.
“Starbucks sinks after announcing a weaker-than-expected sales forecast and plans to close over”
Oh, how could they?
Employees will lose their jobs.
Families will lose their incomes.
Children will lose their health care.
The government should stop these closings.
I think they closed on average around 50 locations per year
but this time it has expanded.
Not bad considering at the end of 2017 they had in the USA
8,222 company operated stores and 5,708 licensed stores.
Social justice warriors, killing the trees which produce the fruit.
“...plans to close over 100 stores next year.”
Do they say on which street?
I counseled a young man (22ish) on how to interview, when he was having a lot of problems getting job offers. I helped him straighten out what he was doing wrong and within a week he got a job at Starbucks!
He’s been there more than a year, now, and every two weeks he is given a bag of unground coffee. Neither he, nor his mother drink coffee, so she brings it to us.
My wife grinds it and brews it in our coffee maker. I can report that it tastes good because:
1. It is not burnt, and
2. Free Starbucks coffee tastes much better than the over-priced stuff.
New tagline...
I have a friend who owns 2 cafes and his stock in trade is getting the best coffees from S. America...go figure. He explained to me how SB buys their coffee and they purposely do not buy the better quality beans, yet charge more because their cool...or something. He told me Dunkin Donuts, of all places has the highest quality out of all of the franchise coffee joints. How they roast it, is another issue!
Besides BSA, add any church that forgets telling us about the Gospels and preaches the SJW bs instead.
Starbuck’s shares fell because it was turned
into a public urinal...with bad coffee.
ping!
Where do the Starbucks's employees, who make and serve your coffee, "Wash their hands?"!
the second a company embraces the left... it’s doomed. Only a matter of time until it’s out of business.
That's the communist way -- turn the neighborhood to crap, then move to another neighborhood, and turn that one to crap, (no)rinse and repeat.
Why do people buy that horrible swill?
It’s because their managers failed economics 101.
By changing $9 for a cup of coffee, liberal elites were able to created a ‘gated community’ that allowed them to pontificate about their great love for the homeless - WHILE NOT HAVING TO ACTUALLY DEAL WITH THE HOMELESS.
If it had only been ‘the coffee’ they would drink at McDonalds for a buck a cup.
Once the safety of the ‘liberal elite gated community’ was gone Starbucks devolved into McDonalds... with ZERO protection from reality...
Ha ha Starbucks!!
That makes sense. In essence, it would be a scam then. Dunkin Donuts has good coffee, but it is always better at a local coffee shop.
Hahahahahahahahahaha!
They could go into the bathroom to cry in private but theirs a homeless guy sleeping in there.
