Something I haven’t heard anyone mention yet.
They keep saying, “Separating these children from their *parents*”. Well, what if those adults *are not* their parents?
Phoenix has busted a lot of “safe houses” that were no different than slave pens. Say a family of four wants to cross the border. The traffickers will demand $5000, half now, and half later, and they’ll keep their *children*, who come up later with an adult trafficker, as collateral.
These traffickers are horrible criminals. They think nothing of molesting children, or killing them, or raising the price once they have control over the children. They regard their clients as expendable.
Imagine the hysteria if the media discovered dead children, “who crossed the border with their parents”, lying in a ditch with their throats cut?
It is a legal and moral obligation to protect these children from adults who may want to do them harm.
Child trafficking for sex is going on.
How do these idiots think it gets stopped and the children rescued?
Every illegal alien child should be removed from adult control until authorities determine if the child is being abused.

Wuz waiting for someone to finally understand and express concern for the safety of the children.
And even if we do not separate the children, we have no way of protecting them from “adults”in these detention centers.
Here is a corollary to this saga.
If Mrs DoodleBob and I were scofflaws and were pondering illegally entering Lichtenstein and thought the likelihood of us being separated from the little DoodleBobs was high, we'd stay at home. We love our kids too much to take that chance for a AAA rated country.
To be fair, this threat of separation was small under the Obama regime. And, to be sure, a parent may face a Hobson's choice in staying in, say, North Korea vs risking separation. I get it.
But Mexico isn't NK - it's not a sh**hole, remember? And Trump has been around for about 18 months - everyone knows there's a new sherif in town.
So...the question to ask is: what does it say about the parents, that they're willing to risk separation from their flesh and blood, in breaking the law?
