Giuliani: Trump isn’t planning to issue pardons during Russia probe

Rudy Giuliani said on Sunday that President Trump isn’t planning on pardoning former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and other allies caught up in the special counsel’s probe but wouldn’t rule out that possibility once the investigation ends.

“The president has issued no pardons in this investigation. The president is not going to issue pardons in this investigation,” Giuliani, Trump’s lawyer, said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“My advice to him, you know, as long as I’m his lawyer, is not to do it,” he added. “Because you just cloud what is becoming now a very clear picture of a very unfair investigation.”

But the former New York City mayor said that after Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation concludes, Trump could decide otherwise.

”When it’s over? Hey, he’s the President of the United States, he retains his pardon power,” Giuliani said.

GEORGE W. BUSH, the gift that keeps on giving: After President George W. Bush tapped him for the top law enforcement job in 2001, Mueller served through most of 2013 – going over the usual 10-year limit on FBI directors, which was imposed to prevent reigns as long as Hoover’s 50 years.

TRANSLATION: When the Mueller Probe is over, pardons all around.

Giuliani TALKS TOO MUCH.

If Giuliani is talking on his own, President Trump needs to smack him in the side of the head and tell him quit it. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Trump is having Giuliani say what Trump can't say on his own.

Seriously. What’s the strategic value of him giving interviews all the time? He’s two months behind on the goal of ending Mueller in 2-3 weeks. He needs to go silent and work on that behind the scenes rather than popping off all the time

Liberals continue to be outraged. "Why aren't you pardoning people and giving us a solid obstruction case?"

DU'ers were certain Manafort would've been sprung over the weekend.

If someone read just the headline they wouldn’t see this clarification.

“But the former New York City mayor said that after Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation concludes, Trump could decide otherwise.”

Giuliani is doing just fine. He hasn't walked back anything he's said. The Mueller probe is falling apart. Just last week Mitch McConnell took off his kneepads and told Mueller to wrap it up. That's pretty big news. It's going to be over soon.

That should end in a “a week or two” comment wasn’t necessarily to mean the probe would be in 2 weeks but to show it should be ended and how very unreasonable Mueller is being.

Guiliani throws stuff out there for the press to chew on. In other words, we’re controlling the press.

He's the President's lead attorney on all matters relating to the Mueller investigation.

I think Manafort was one of the spies (plants). Is all this to keep him quiet? Or is it to suborn perjury?
