House GOP leaders distributed an immigration bill to conference members Thursday, in hopes of finding a permanent legislative fix for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) while advancing some of President Trump's immigration and border initiatives.

The republican party has not been my party for several years now. I am praying for the Trump party.
The thing that makes me sick is for the first 40 years of my life I never knew our country with a republican majority. I really did think that the republican party was different and if only they would be given a chance to lead this country would be so great.

The Trump Amnesty - which he submitted to the GOP Congressional leadership on 26 January 2018 - estimated that 1.8 million DACAs would be eligible.
The Democrats have at least one bill circulating that would give Amnesty to 3.8 million DACAs.
Bottom Line - The GOP will give Amnesty to at least 1.8 million future Democrats. In exchange, we will get 200 pages of new immigration laws and regulations that no future president, and no future Congress, will enforce.

Yup, I voted for Pappy Bush twice and W twice, McCain and Romney. Other than McCain, I was proud of all those votes and then what did the Bushes do? They “adopted” Clinton and we were treated to “brother from another mother” and all of that ridiculous garbage.

Send parents home, let DACAs finish school if parents and relatives go home. Then they can go make their country's of birth great again.
There can be separate hearings for hard cases and possible retention.

There is no reason to believe that future GOP Congressmen will ever enforce new immigration laws.
If it was such a great bill they would not be releasing it under cover of the IG report.

Let me guess... “over 10 years”.
I heard reports a few weeks ago (from Politico), that the Trump Administration was seeking to raise the $1.6 billion per year in the 10 year baseline budget, up to $2.5 billion - $25 billion over 10 years.
A net increase of $900 million per year would equal about 60 additional miles of high end urban barrier per year (It has been running about $15 million per mile).
Unless Trump is re-elected in 2020, he will get two more drops of money (FY19 and FY20 budgets) for the border barrier - $3.2 to $5 billion, or about 200 - 350 more miles of really strong barrier. That would be a great help in policing the urban areas, but won’t seal up the border from human smugglers.
