Trump has not “always” been open to amnesty. He was opposed to DACA before being elected, was going to end it “on day one.” He changed his position after being elected.

He changed his position after being elected. During the campaign he did a TV town hall with Hannity and said hed be open to doing something for the DACA kids. So he was changing his position befor he got elected.

Calling a process that takes many years (over 6 I believe... maybe many more) along with a background check for any crimes is not amnesty. It is also not DACA.
Any change in his position reflects the core problems (wall, lottery, chain migration and merit based system).
