Foolish and dangerous.
This is why Trump is the only one who can do this. Everyone is afraid of looking weak buy Trump’s word is his strength. The rest are, quite frankly, cowards.
POTUS gave up nothing.
While “war games” help cooperating armies get their many areas of cooperation in sync, we do not hurt ourselves at this point, in as much as any president, including Trump can put them back on the military agenda any time they think North Korea is reneging on its agreements. Until that proves necessary, there are some cost savings to halting them.
Good, this whole thing will save us $$$ and NOT at expense of safety. Trump and Kelly are NOT stupid. They know our capability. Such rehearsals will take place elsewhere to keep Pakistan, Russia, China in check.
Wasn’t a major reason for the war game to intimidate NK to this very position?
We’ll save a tremendous amount of money, but we’ll weaken the security of ourselves and our allies. This is dangerous.
We don’t need no stinking war games now.
We have our best and brightest with their most sophisticated equipment over there “providing security”
If this is all a way to pry N. Korea away from China and reunify the peninsula, then I say go for it. Sadly, I don’t think China will let it happen—unless they got a secret quid pro quo re: Taiwan. I would only be in favor of that if mainland China reformed and disposed of the communist party first.
