Why, because it runs counter to the current groupthink?

No, because it is idiotic. The senate has already told Trump they will not confirm another AG if Trump fires sessions. The gopE and mueller are chomping at the bit to have a reason to impeach and then convict Trump for obstruction charges. What you see in the senate is all kabuki theater meant to buy time. Trump is having to tiptoe around these deep state goons, and a lot foolish people who believe that Trump can fire anyone he wants. These same people, and I am assuming you too, thought Trump could just fire comey. See how that worked out?

The Horowitz report will provide Trump the justification he needs to clean house. Even if the report is not as damning as it could be, there will still be plenty of evidence of destructive partisanship, obstruction of justice, and a clear case of efforts to undermine our democracy. The report should make it clear to the American people that these agencies are corrupt, out of control, and need to be cleaned out. The people will support Trump’s actions to do that.

Leaving these goons in place and doing nothing will leave the Deep State in control, and that is an unacceptable condition which will only foster even more corruption and political meddling in the future.

What is foolish is allowing a destructive cabal in place to engage in illicit machinations and to undermine the integrity of our political system. They cannot be allowed to stay less we come to accept the idea of living in a police state.

Trump can fire whoever he wants in the Executive branch, that is not really a matter of debate, it is a given.

Whether the Senate will confirm a replacement or not, Trump can also appoint acting AGs to replace whoever he fires. They will serve only a limited term, but he can then just appoint another, and another if the Senate won’t confirm. Trump obviously has decided not to go that route, but it is perfectly within his power to choose to do so.

As for impeachment, I think that’s really an empty threat. Certainly doing so on grounds of “obstruction of justice” would be a farce, since that would mean the President, as the chief of the law enforcement branch, were somehow “obstructing” himself.

Hi, there, troll-boi.

Maybe you were too busy spreading cheer to notice, but Comey had his office raided while he was on the West Coast. He is still fired.

And maybe you didn't notice this, either, but even CNN isn't spewing forth "collusion" 24x7 anymore. They're now fibrillating between Stormy Daniels and Trump's followers being ray-ciss, and Trump's supposed mental instability.

Were Mewler on a roll, in hot pursuit, such would not be true.
