This is really just a part of Trump’s effort to stop America from essentially “funding the world!” We have been so ill-served by our government, sadly including to some extent even Ronald Reagan, for all of my nearly 78 years, and it took Trump to open everyone’s eyes to the dimensions of the problem. Friends and Allies who are such only because we “buy their loyalty,” aren’t really friends, but rather a bunch of whores that we’ve bought with our money. I don’t know, as a component of our budget, what foreign aid and military assistance is, but it’s not insignificant. And now that we are unraveling this trade imbalance, we may see that it’s a much larger cost to America. For the future, America’s role in “making the world a better place” needs to be pared down to the point where it isn’t an impediment to our growth and the health of our country and it’s citizens. And lastly, there needs to be a wholesale effort to get America’s “business leaders,” to be made to realize that so long as they are Americans and run their businesses from America, that they need to act in the best interests of our country, even if it minimally affects their f*cking wallets.
Hearing the truth that you don’t want to hear is sobering, especially when you have to pony up your fair share.
