Many have their doubts about Trump-Kim summit

The self-proclaimed master dealmaker is facing doubts from multiple corners as he prepares to negotiate with Kim Jong Un.

Ahead of President Donald Trump’s landmark summit next week with the North Korean leader, U.S. allies and many Republicans are raising concerns that he may impulsively give in on issues they say should be deal-breakers for the United States. Ambiguity about exactly what “denuclearization” must look like has left some wringing their hands, while others fear he may yield on a longtime North Korean wish that the U.S. withdraw some or all of its military presence on the Korean Peninsula.

There are worries from some quarters about Kim’s intentions and his willingness to actually follow through on any commitment he might make in Singapore.

“My suspicion remains that he is going to try to get as much sanctions relief as possible without having to give up his weapons,” said Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla....

No deal is expected anyway. All this really is, is an icebreaker of sorts.

So when nothing is signed, these same types will bloviate how Trump “failed.”

I am sure that things will turn out for the best.

If there is an impasse, Dennis Rodman will arrange a game of basketball horse between Trump & Kim to decide whether things are decided in favor of the US or N Korea.

(/sarcasm) Go Trump! MAGA!

Trump is not facing “negotiation” with Kim. The negotiation is done. These “summits” are strictly photo ops sessions. There would not be a summit were there anything left to negotiate. The real deal-making was with China and Russia and South Korea. Kim, after an appropriate spurt of protest, will do what his Chinese and Russian bosses tell him.

"facing doubts from multiple corners"

I didn't know 'corners' could have doubts. I always thought 'corners' were inanimate, necessities for a room to be square.

Toss aside what is stated, implied, etc. as no matter the point is THIS PRESIDENT CAN’T.

The left wants you to know, and understand without a doubt in your mind Donald J. Trump, and FAIL are synonymous. Just the way it is.

You are right of course and what is so surprising is so very many do not seem to be aware of this.

The garbage headine in my local AP-loving paper read “Doubt On All Sides As Summit Looms”. The more they fear, the greater the lies and spin they publish.

Much to their chagrin, the People are now awake and realize just how anti-American, totally depraved and insane the “left” really is. They no longer have any credibility, respect or even real voice any more.
And, oh, they brought it upon themselves....

OF COURSE THERE IS, why it’s President Trump against the leftstream media. I know this is a shock to some people, who are comatose, but it is a fact.

They are not predicting failure.

They are HOPING for it.

Their hopes will be dashed and after a deal is brokered Trump will get the all but useless Nobel (which I hope he sends a 10 YO kid to pick up). Id they don’t offer it the last fig leaf will be off).

doubts are reasonable ... hand-wringing and pearl-clutching are not ... even worse are those who are actively promoting failure as the desirable outcome for their own political ambitions, which are being put ahead of the well-being of our country and our world ...

what everyone is really worried about is that Trump might reach a good deal, and bring and end to the conflict with North Korea. Doing that would solidify his place in history, and probably get him the Nobel Peace Prize, and send his approval rating up several points.
