Charles Krauthammer, the beloved and brilliant Fox News Channel personality who gave up a pioneering career in psychiatry to become a Pulitzer Prize-winning political analyst, on Friday revealed the heartbreaking news that he is in the final stages of a losing battle with cancer.
The 68-year-olds incisive takes on politics of the day have been missing from Fox News Channels Special Report for nearly a year as he battled an abdominal tumor and subsequent complications, but colleagues and viewers alike had held out hope that he would return to the evening show he helped establish as must-viewing. But in an eloquent, yet unblinking letter to co-workers, friends and Fox News Channel viewers, Krauthammer disclosed that he has just weeks to live.
I have been uncharacteristically silent these past ten months, the letter began. I had thought that silence would soon be coming to an end, but Im afraid I must tell you now that fate has decided on a different course for me.

One thing about life, nobody gets out alive,
Sad
I hate hearing anyone has cancer and dying from it. Sobering as they are often our age.
Compare this class act to McCain
I found myself in tears over this news.
As others have said, I didn’t always agree with him, but there were other times that I did.
He is a great intellect, but could be self-deprecating and humorous.
I’m also praying that God will bring him to His Messiah in these final weeks.
I did not always agree with Charles Krauthammer. But I always listened to him.
His opinions and thoughts are well thought and principled. And he delivered those opinions with out talking over nor yelling at his opponents.
He was always the smartest guy in the room.
His arguments and points were iron clad, thorough and well researched.
I haven’t had cable in years so I didn’t know he was missing.
Very sad.
Very sad.
Sorry to hear this. Will be missed even if I didn’t agree with somethings he said.
Amen!!
I miss Charlie! Such a brilliant mind...soon he will be with his beloved parents and brother. I wish him a safe and serene passage to the other side.
Very sad. May God grant him peace.
Best wishes and a prayer for him.
Sad indeed, Dr. K was an intellectual in the best sense of the word and a person with whom you could disagree and still respect.
This is one hell of an opus.
I was thinking the same thing.
Sorry to hear this.
Prayers for Charles and his family.
Sad news. I was thinking about him last week wondering how he was doing since last we heard. Didn’t expect this. Prayers up for Charles Krauthammer, and family.
Very sad!
Very sad to hear; just heard it from Marc Stein on Rushs show. Prayers up for him in his final days.
Very sad indeed. I met him once and he was very nice. His personality on TV is just how he was in person so I felt like I already knew him.
