being processed out of the Army with the most severe type of military administrative discharge -- an "other than honorable discharge." I did not realize that an OTH discharge was worse than a Bad Conduct discharge. Crimeny, I wish "journalists" would at least put a tiny bit of effort to get things right in their stories, instead of going for sensationalism at every turn..

The OTH discharge is still a non felony offense. He’ll still get some benefits including his SGLI coverage. Unfortunately if he didn’t commit a felony offense he still gets some benefits. I think, correct me if I’m wrong, the Bad Conduct Discharge and Dishonorable are the only ones where you lose all veterans benefits.
