One winter morning in a conventional suburb outside Albany, N.Y., Nancy Salzman, the 63-year-old president of a self-improvement company named Nxivm, sat on a mahogany-colored stool in her kitchen. Her tasteful home was surrounded by other Nxivm members modest townhouses or capacious stone mansions that seemed to spring up out of nowhere, like mushrooms, on the suburban streets. In Salzmans den, a photo of her with her two adult daughters hung on a wall, the three of them wearing smiles as wide as ancient Greek masks of comedy; the same happy photo served as the wallpaper on Salzmans laptop. A hairless Sphynx cat prowled the lovely buffet of croissants and fruit on her kitchen island.
Salzman, an extremely fit woman wearing the type of thin athleisure sweatshirt thats all the rage with the middle-aged bourgeoisie these days, turned her attention to a woman sitting at the island: Jacqueline, a 27-year-old with long dark hair, who was a psychology student in college, told me that she hadnt experienced anything as effective as Nxivm (pronounced nexium, like the heartburn medication). Like Scientologys L. Ron Hubbard, whose 1950 handbook Dianetics was billed as the modern science of mental health and whose pseudoscientific methods were, in his view, world-changing, Keith Raniere, Nxivms 57-year-old founder, believed his organization could heal individuals and transform the world. The way Nxivm did this was through techniques, or technology, meant to rewire your emotional self.
Salzman, who has training in neurolinguistic programming, which involves hypnosis and techniques of mirroring another individual to create deep rapport, was about to embark on a therapy session in which she would ask Jacqueline to cast her mind back to her childhood, as Nxivm sessions often do. Jacqueline had come to her with a phobia: She flips out when she gets on a plane.

NXIVM was a cult for women run by the Bronfman daughters, Keith Raniere and Nancy Salzman. Women were branded and made sex slaves.
All were supporters of Hillary Clinton. The Bronfman women were part of the Clinton foundation. Nancy Salzman was part of the Clinton Global Initiative.
The NYT just published a very favorable article about the people involved in this cult.
It is interesting to read.
The branding was not with a hot iron but cauterization taking almost an hour.
Mind control by any other name ... satan has many servants, and he rewards them well in most cases, but is it worth an eternity apart from God? The human mind is most interesting ...
I would bet just about all of them are atheists.
No moral compass and no morals.
Keith Raniere = white Bhagwan
Same gig, Same MO
Leftists, all birds of a feather...
Mind control... LOL
They never get it.
bttt
These women all probably worry that “The Handmaid’s Tale” will come into being in Trump’s America, and that an alpha male and alpha female will control them and use them sexually. That would be just awful.
What fools.
Sounds a lot like a guru got #metoo-ed by a bunch of flakes who had second thoughts. Basically Waco without the pointless siege and arson. It’s kind of weird how the #metoo hysteria has ensnared so many lefties in its quest to impeach and remove Trump. More and more, it’s beginning to resemble the child molestation hysteria that resulted in the imprisonment of the Amiraults https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fells_Acres_Day_Care_Center_preschool_trial, where prosecutor Martha Coakley pressured kids to make up stories, with expert help from a cherry-picked pediatric nurse, who wouldn’t stop her interrogation until the children used as prosecution witnesses agreed to finger the defendants. Except the “victims” here are full-grown adults.
America will never be right with God until we rid ourselves of this sinful filth . We have turned into Sodom & Gommorah and many of so proud of that . The heathen sinners are just tolerated and allowed to go on their merry way. So it was in old Sodom
If a woman gives her consent to no longer require consent to sexual activity then isn’t that consent?
What I mean is that as weird as these people are I’m not seeing anyone going into this who didn’t do so willingly.
It was reported Schneiderman had mountains of evidece when he closed the Nxivm investigation.
What did he do with all the evidence?
NOTE: Schneiderman was recently ousted from office, outed as a seual deviant. Several women he was intimate with asserted he choked, slapped, and spat on them while in the bedroom
I agree with you. People in such relationships sometimes have signed contracts, I think. I do not know if that was the case here.
None of what is happening is coincidental.
That does not mean we will ever know the truth.
I am sure that will be their defense, maybe a valid one.
I do think they were mislead as to what was going to happen to them when they joined. Also were forcibly held down while being branded.
My guess is they are guilty, at least the leaders.
I don’t approve of some of the positions that allow homosexuals to be leaders for children and religions organizations. Beyond that, I think God will have to judge them like everyone else, and his final determination will have to suffice. We may be surprised who is and isn’t saved in the final judgement. I cannot say for certain what will happen for me, let alone others.
We are all sinners.
It’s also my position that young children should not be indoctrinated into the beliefs of homosexuals. Children are at an impressionable age still trying to figure out who they are. They do not need folks who have a vested interest in numbers, to do an assessment for them and tell them what “this action” or “that action” on their part means about their gender.
It may mean something, but as often or not, it may mean nothing. Children don’t need adults urging them in one direction or another about their gender choices.
Leave them alone!
Getting into Heaven isn't a points based system. Refer to I Corinthians 15:1-4. If you believe this in your heart, then you are saved.
Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to youunless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures
Correction, this was meant to be a reply to LeoWindhorse.
I did see your note, but I would like to weigh in.
No, there is no path to heaven based on “earning it” by good works.
Acceptance of Jesus Christ as our personal savior and sacrificial lamb, is the only path.
Now, that being said, I do believe we should express our love for the Holy Trinity by living as Christ would have us live.
Will we attain that goal 100%. No, nowhere close, but we shouldn’t go out and commit crimes, hurt people, and be a burden on society or family, if we can at all help it.
Jesus Christ purchased our souls back from Satan with his death. Claiming that promised “salvation through faith” is the only path to heaven.
Seeking to attain heaven by good works, is an insult to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. We must grasp and accept this.
