Gowdy claimed that the FBI's use of spies against the Trump campaign was perfectly proper, but multiple reports indicate he never even saw the full records Congress subpoenaed on the matter.
Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) recently suggested the FBI did nothing wrong when it used at least one government informant to secretly collect information on Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. Public reports indicate, however, that Gowdy never even reviewed the relevant documents on the matter subpoenaed by Congress. In fact, a spokeswoman for Gowdy told The Federalist that the congressman doesn’t even know what documents and records were subpoenaed by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI).

Gowdy has not done his homework on this and is talking out of his ass to make people think he’s on top of it. He’s not. He stepped in it big time and showed he doesn’t care enough to follow the basic timeline of events. He also has a history of petering out and losing interest in prosecuting his case at the last minute (see Benghazi). It may be a ploy to take the AG spot (when Trump finally rids us of Gumby Sessions) by tricking enough Dims into voting for his nomination, but it’s a horrible game plan and won’t work. He needs to do a public mea culpa on Martha McCallum’s show or Hannity’s and let everyone know he screwed up, so we won’t think he’s either; A: Lost his mind, or B: been compromised by the deep state.
DOJ/FBI never showed ANY of the Gang of 8 ANY of the subpoenaed documents. None of them.
Whatever the Deep State has on Trey Gowdy, it must be good.

This means the IG report is going to be a whitewash. Gowdy laying the groundwork
I’m withholding judgement on Gowdy at this point. He has not held an office that administers justice since he was a federal prosecutor. A lot of knee-jerk reactions out there. We all want instant justice. Maybe we should shut up and let things take the proper course in due time. We have got to realize our handle on the evidence is tenuous at best. There are fabricators in every walk of life, starting with the left.
Gowdy claims we would want the government to investigate us like they are investigating Trump? He claims they went by the book? (Ugh, 8 months without telling Congress.... leaking to the NY Times... Paying spies to plant information to use that same information to obtain warrants...)
There’s more here than we know. The apparent theme, however, is desperation on the part of those who want Trump out of power. Gowdy does not fit that profile unless we draw conclusions from unknown sources. I’m willing to cut some slack. To hang this deep state by its petard is not, given decades, a thing to happen overnight.
From what we do know of this coup - as is now a public record of events - Gowdy’s statements are inexcusable.
I’m thinking that he’s always been a pretend opponent.
Roosterhead is too chicken to go on any shows like Laura’s or Levin’s to explain himself and be questioned.
