President Trump looked toward the midterm elections during his May 29 speech in Nashville, Tennessee, and warned, “You won’t have a Second Amendment if Democrats take over.”
The Tennessean quoted Trump’s appeal for support for Republican candidates in the midterms: “The other thing is, we are going to protect your Second Amendment.”

Kinda’ thinkin’ with 300+ million firearms running loose out in the vast US, if the GUNS were a/the problem, wouldn’t the population of the US be a LOT smaller? That many firearms and how many billions of rounds of ammo. Well, add in what the rest of ya’ll have too. ;-)
Repealing the Second Amendment means passing & then ratifying a new Amendment. Look up Prohibition.
First the bill must pass both houses of Congress with a two thirds majority; then it must be ratified by three fourths of the state legislatures, thirty eight states. Yes, there is the alternate method, a Constitutional convention of the states. But that takes 34 states and it is conservatives driving the call to convene one.
For a close but no cigar amendment that failed to ratify, look up Equal Rights Amendment.
If Obama could have done “stroke of the pen, law of the land” to repeal the 2A, he would have. But he didn’t have that power.
I’m optimistic that the “blue wave” supposed to sweep Congress this fall will not happen. But we need Pres. Trump to keep us focused. Stemwinders like the one he delivered in TN are part of that.
Our God Given Freedoms have been eroding for years, yet nobody has taken up Arms to stop it.
Either there will be another “Shot heard round the World” or Americans will simply surrender their Arms while grumbling under their breath. First it will be those Evil Assault Weapons, then all Semi Automatics, then Pistols, then Bolt Action Rifles and finally Shotguns.
The Left is very patient. Their only mistake is pushing their Agenda too hard and too fast. Incremental-ism is their most potent weapon.
Face the fact, half the Country would be fine and dandy with our God Given Second Amendment Rights being stripped away.
Heck, apparently half the Country is fine with Free Speech being nipped in the bud, unless it's their Free Speech of course.
Either way we will still be armed.

How can anybody ‘surrender’ anything when nobody knows what anybody else has in many states? Let’s see what happens when the call comes to turn in certain firearms - I live in a very small state and it’s no secret where anybody lives. I’m patient - and potent - when pushed too far.

Trump is a great president. He has a serious weakness, however, and it is his dislike and lack of understanding of guns. Also using the word you to gun owners instead of we as Obama would do with the NAACP , is discomforting.
I will not even go into how he seem to believe in nuclear disarmament, drinking that NYC kool aid
He carries a concealed handgun, or at least did before he had bodyguards.
