Both the US and Russia used pencils. After the Apollo One fire NASA wanted something that wouldn’t burn. The space pen was developed by private industry. It is now used by both the US and Russian space programs.

I know someone personally who works for NASA - they say there is excitement in the air there. They feel they can renew the program for what it is meant to do - explore space. That’s not to say there are naysayers, your typical leftist.
I went to a large university and my first degree was a BS in Meteorology. They cut that program completely and now offer a BA in Climatology. I checked the course syllabus and you don't have to take any science or mathematics courses to become a "Climatologist." It is junk.

The continuing education requirement is part of state law governing the licensing of professional engineers. The space shuttle disasters were presented as case studies where management pressures overrode engineering concerns. In these cases, the engineers, having exhausted internally corrected this, could be considered legally obligated to take it to the next level, if they were licensed PE’s. Many state laws regarding licensed PE’s provide legal protection against retaliation against whistleblowers. The PE ethics courses cover where the Professional Engineering Code of Ethics applies within the scope of the law.

From what I saw on the list of class requirements there really wasn't much. I saw Algebra 1, a basic general science course, and Freshman Chemistry.
My Meteorology had Calc 1&2, two 300 Level Chem classes, Physics (Calc based) 1&2, Geology (300 level) and two cartography (300 level) classes.

They rode the man-made globull warming gravy train since Clinton. They made sure all their little bureaucrats got to punch the clock and get a paycheck. Didn’t matter if the data they were putting out was truthful or not it was NASA and they were using the Mercury-Gemini-Apollo programs prestige to justify everyone believing they would never lie about what they were doing, except they were and they got caught doing just that.
Then you get their muslim outright and deeper entrenchment into the globull warming hoax and they forgot their original mission, exploration. Trump wants to do manned spaceflight, but I am not sure NASA wants too anymore other than the ISS. Other than the astronauts the beta males have taken over at NASA. Trump wants manned flight, drop all this PC garbage and get back to exploration or NASA needs to wither on the vine.
Sorry, NASA, time to get back to reality.
