ABC, in a stunning move, has decided to cancel its Roseanne revival following star Roseanne Barr's racist tweet Tuesday. Early Tuesday, star, head writer and exec producer Barr attacked Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser to former President Barack Obama, in a since-deleted tweet in which she said "Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj." Barr subsequently apologized: "I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me — my joke was in bad taste."
Walt Disney Co. CEO Bob Iger also weighed in on the decision to cancel Roseanne: "There was only one thing to do here, and that was the right thing," he tweeted.

Barr's tweet prompted a massive outcry across social media, with thousands condeming the actress-comedian's comments and calling on ABC to cancel her series. The Disney-owned network's decision to cancel the comedy marked the first time the network has taken action in response to one of Barr's controversial tweets.
Axing the Roseanne revival was no small decision for ABC.

Well, I never saw the show (RB’s personality acted or real just doesn’t do anything for me - I much prefer a “Delenn” (from Babylon 5)...)
That said, I agree, Barr’s comment is not “ok”, and wailing that libs use such references, and worse, all the time, doesn’t make it ok.
However, this is still a useful moment, precisely because Barr is so well known, and popular. Now, whenever a lib says something similar, or worse, we can throw it right back in their face. With vigor! This will either thoroughly expose the hypocrisy of the left, OR, the carnage should be something to behold. But that works only if we smack ‘em hard and relentlessly with it at every opportunity, present and past.
They used to take to the streets with torches and pitchforks to get their “justice” , now they can lynch people with two thumbs from a chair at Starbucks

I would boycott ABC, if I watched it, but I haven’t in many years. I thought the show was funny and not happy to see it go so quickly.

Someone brought up the point that according to most liberals and evolutionists that we all evolved from apes to begin with. So what’s the rub?
I’ve yet to even see the new show. And I read the tweet once yesterday off a link from Drudge. But the MSM has been repeating it over the air over and over.
I blame Rosanne for saying it but the MSM for repeating it, perpetuating it, and keeping a stupid joke alive.

Its only racist if the point is that persons of color are more closely related to apes than white persons are. This, of course, is purely a scientific question that will not be answered because it is not correct to do so. Some say DNA has disproved this notion, others disagree.
One rub is that few educated people and no evolutionists believe that to begin with.
The old Roasanne series re-runs have been pulled by HULU, CMT, LAFF, TV Land - and I’m sure others.

It was an easy decision for ABC. Disney has a lot more at stake than what they make off of Rosanne.
The box office for Black Panther was over $1.3 billion. They have two sequels in the works. The Solo opening was disappointing but it was still over $100 million and should hit half a billion when all is said and done. Disney owns both. Whatever money they make off Rosanne pales in comparison to what they could lose if a boycott is launched against their other properties. So no, after Barr self-destructed it was no small decision at all to drop her. The only question is why they waited as long as they did.
