I’ve never heard anybody wish anybody else a “Happy Memorial Day.”
Straw man much?
Yeah until I was told to never wish someone a happy memorial day I never heard of it either. Odd.
Ive never heard anybody wish anybody else a Happy Memorial Day.
The only cheapening of Memorial Day is by the Mattress Salesmen.
Never thought about it before but you are right.
Never heard the words happy and memorial day mentioned together.
It is all over the place here, especially advertising. “Happy” is not a word I use to describe the day. He has a point.
I have. Seems more and more don’t have a clue.
Not a strawman in the least. Google it.
I have...on MANY occasions.
He just feels bad because he never shot bin laden.
Saw one today. I also see a lot of well-intentioned good wishes for veterans (nice sentiment, and thanks, but wrong day.)
Robert O'Neil is completely correct.
I saw it come across facebook from a nation wide company. I see their posts as I helped one of their franchisees get started. I replied to their advertisement/graphic post that it is improper to say “happy memorial day”. They IM’d me with a bunch of back peddling gobbledygook but didn’t alter or pull their post. Idiots.
42 year old Oklahoma born, well traveled civi. Never heard anyone say that ever. His point is very valid, title of the article... needs help... perhaps. Gotta be an insinsetive a$$ or completely aloof to say that in Sooner (and OK State) country. God bless Mr O’Neill and all our vets. Multiple family members included. Love this country!
