A retired high school English teacher says a letter she received from President Trump would have barely earned passing marks, so she corrected the letter and sent it back to the White House.
Yvonne Mason, an Atlanta resident who retired this year after teaching middle and high school students in South Carolina for 17 years, corrected grammatical mistakes in the letter bearing Trump's signature, including 11 instances of improper capitalization of words like "president" and "state."
"If it had been written in middle school, I'd give it a C or C-plus," Mason told South Carolina's Greenville News. "If it had been written in high school, I'd give it a D."
She did not attach a letter grade in the letter she sent back to the White House.
Mason acknowledges the letter was likely written by a staffer. She received it after penning a letter requesting that Trump meet individually with the families who lost loved ones in the Feb. 14 high school shooting in Parkland, Fla.
"When you get letters from the highest level of government, you expect them to be at least mechanically correct," she told the newspaper.
"It's stylistically appalling," she added, comparing Trump's writing to the "exquisite" letters she's received from South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham's (R) office.
The teacher said the White House response did not address her request specifically.

Ill bet Lindy writes some flowery prose.
Do people think Trump writes that stuff?
Do people think that he even sees 1% of the letters that go out with his auto pen signature?
The letter sucks. Whoever wrote it should not be writing letters for the President.
Yes, I understand he is ultimately responsible, but someone should buy this women and her ilk a clue.
“If it had been written in middle school, I’d give it a C or C-plus,” Mason told South Carolina’s Greenville News. “If it had been written in high school, I’d give it a D.”
But would she then have gone on to tell the whole world about it? This tells you what kind of person she is and what her agenda is.
It seems that she has never heard of a style sheet.
There are actually mega-bestsellers where the style is to cap “President” even if it’s the president of another country.
And she’s not allowed to revise content as an English teacher.

If the teacher knew jack squat about grammar, she’d know that “improper” capitalization isn’t necessarily improper in words such as State and President. One would right, “the next state over” and “the president of the company called me.” However, it is proper grammar (though not mandatory in modern, U.S. English) to say, “the State thus reserves the right” and “the President of the United States.”
And I’m amazed Roll Call doesn’t also know that.
OMG, look at the FB page:
“I’m still with her”
“The Biden Foundation”
“Barack Obama”
“Impeach Trump”
“Hillary for America”
“Proud to be a Nasty Woman”

I can spell moon bat.
I’ve said for some time that Trump is not well served by the people he has working for him.
Because for her winning a few points among her leftist friends is worth trashing some young person who is just starting out in their career. I wonder how she would feel if other people treated young employees like that because they disagreed with the policy of top management.
I guess she would be OK with telling some kid at Starbucks what a failure they are for working there because if you disagree with the politics of their CEO. Somehow that strikes me as just plain rude.
I would expect DJT would prefer that correspondence under his name not be so riddled with errors. megamillionaire real estate tycoons don’t usually like looking sort of dumb.
Now, why thehill thought it was newsworthy is hysterical and biased. But that’s nothing new
Actually it is not riddled with errors. The capitalizations that the retired english teacher doesn't like are actually straight from the federal style guides. And letters from Barack Obama use the same style. I don't remember this particular teacher having any complaints then.
And I don't remember the teacher complaining about Hillary Clinton's capitalization in her resignation letter either:
"It has been a privilege to lead such a dedicated and skilled team of Foreign Service Officers and Civil Servants at the State Department and USAID."
Well bless her heart
Of course I am kidding, but you must admit it would make sense
:)

I like some people on the Internet who correct people as if they're comments are being graded or it's a test. Most the time it's really unnecessary to point that out as most get their point regardless.
If someone is paying me to get it right, then I'll make double effort to make sure it's right. Otherwise, ferrrget it.☺
Without even trying, Trump brings out the drama queen in the all bitter Dems.
You think it’s misspelled huh?
Try telling that to Colonel “Bat” Guano.
Looking at her corrections , I would have to say she is just being Petty and Bitter.
I frequently Capitalize the word Nation when I am speaking of our Great Nation.
Sometimes when I use the word state, I also capitalize that word when speaking of my Great State.
Specific Rule? Hey lady, if you want the Specific Rule, go read the legislation, or are you to illiterate or lazy?
Specific Agency?
How about the “Office of the President of the United States”!
Is she a Moron or just a PROG/LIB/HITLERY BUTT SUCKING IDIOT?
(please feel free to correct any grammatical, punctuation, or spelling errors you locate)
Your retired, try enjoying the rest of your life instead of acting like an Ass.
