NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) -- Two people are in critical condition and a shooter is in custody after a shooting at Noblesville West Middle School.
News 8 has been told that the situation is contained. Police are on scene. The school is on lockdown. Officials are requesting more medical help on the scene.
One victim is a 13-year-old girl. One victim is an adult.
The son of a WISH-TV producer has said that a shooter is in custody. That student heard several shots fired but did not know if they were fired inside or outside of the building.
A teacher inside of the school said students are being moved to the high school.
A public information officer with Indiana State Police said they are "sending everyone."
The school sent a message to parents stating:
Shots have been reported at Noblesville West Middle School. Reports of one injury. Police are onsite and school is in lockdown. Standby for more info.

Local report that a science teacher knocked the gun from the shooter, which ended the event.
Stop looking to the authorities/government to stop this from happening! Do you all not see the ultimate result of demanding that ‘something be done’ will be a police state?
Homeschooling is the only viable answer.
Mom/Dad, get off your duff and find a way.
My youngest son lives in Noblesville. I’m not sure where the Middle School is in conjunction to where he lives. He’s not married, and has no children.
I read a great article yesterday (which I can’t find now), about the cause of school shootings.
The title, or main idea, was “No one is in charge”. Having gone to public school from 1955-1968 and having seven kids, the last one of which is in third grade, made me really appreciate that description of what afflicts our schools.
When I was in school, even in high school, even in 1968, our days were structured around “do” and “do not”. The do’s and don’ts were pretty much derived from Western European protestant thought. This rigid authority structure created freedom to learn (or not) with a system of disincentives that were very broadly supported in the community.
My children, even my first, who went to school in 1985, have grown up under a system of “making good choices”. There is a soft reward system for “making a good choice”, but if you “make a bad choice” not a whole lot of a negative character happens to you.
When I was a libertarian, I believed that giving people freedom led to happiness. Of course, the unexamined premise is “freedom to do
what?” The non-aggression principle is fine to govern high-IQ groups of people with a strong moral upbringing, but is a disaster in the cesspools that our cities and suburbs have become.
At most schools, the adults are there as guides or inspirations to “young learners”. To use edspeak, they are not a “sage on the stage” but rather a “guide alongside”.
School shooters all make a bad choice the day they do their crime. The question which, as a practical matter does not exist in the environment where they spend most of their waking hours, is, “why shouldn’t I make this bad choice?”
By the time they are men (young men, but men nonetheless), disincentives are too late.
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS?!!!
“My youngest son lives in Noblesville. Im not sure where the Middle School is in conjunction to where he lives. Hes not married, and has no children.”
That is really good information thank you
This school is north northwest of Noblesville. Closer to Lake Morse and Cicero.
206th and Hague Rd.
Thanks for that info. I searched for directions from my son’s place, and it appears to be about a half-hour away.
My parents lived in condos right across Hague Road from that school.
Instead of "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me!" it's now "If you disrespect me I'll kill you!"
No. It’s become fashionable due to media coverage. Shoot people, be famous.
> WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS?!!! <
I taught in urban public schools for decades. And I can tell you that there are many factors involved. It sure would be nice to have a nationwide public dialog to address this problem.
But any such dialog would be impossible. Cries of “Ban guns now!” would drown out any conversation.
The filthy islamo-marxists are telling the kids to believe in "facts" that are 180 degrees out of kilter with the evidence of their own lying eyes and experience, and the experience of their own parents, and human morals developed over thousands of years of Western Civilization (is the latter even taught anymore?). Everything that is good is now bad. Everything that is perverse is now demanded social behavior.
It screws up their young brains.
I live in the woods near Canada but was born in Brooklyn and lived in Manhattan until I was 30.
In your opinion, are "urban public schools" (and specifically mandatory high school) viable?
By "viable", I mean, if you were put in charge and given plenary authority over rules, curriculum, and structure, but you were not allowed to expel attendees for non-criminal offenses and were not allowed to segregate, could you make it work?
Agreed, then they add to the attention by making heros out of kids like David Hogg.
“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS?!!!”
Lots of kids raised as entitled jackass snowflakes with no social skills.
Stupid liberal teachers who make hate.
” Could there be something wrong with the schools.... “
***
Yes.
The schools are a Las Vegas bus stop.
“What happens in schools stays in schools.”
See a tagline that works, here.
Throw in a dad, or several, who is armed and “on the wall”, and the result resolves the problem, and desolves the life of the gunner who dares.
Notice how all of these shootings are taking place in Republican states, one’s that are pro-2A (IN, FL, TX)? And not in states with strict gun control?
They’re trying to frame it so they can blame red states’ “lax gun laws” as the problem, and that because of strict gun control, shootings aren’t happening in other states....
