President Trump, Chief-of-Staff John Kelly and White House Counsel Don McGahn met with DOJ Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, FBI Director Christopher Wray and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats today to discuss the revelations of former FBI, DOJ and intelligence officials conducting politically motivated surveillance on the Trump campaign in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
After the meeting the White House released the following statement:
“Based on the meeting with the President, the Department of Justice has asked the Inspector General to expand its current investigation to include any irregularities with the Federal Bureau of Investigations or the Department of Justices tactics concerning the Trump Campaign. It was also agreed that White House Chief of Staff Kelly will immediately set up a meeting with the FBI, DOJ, and DNI together with Congressional Leaders to review highly classified and other information they have requested.” (link)

Feels like Trump is stringing the whole thing out. Is he allowing the story to build in the media? Until some of the Dems start screaming that they can’t believe it and start throwing their buddies under the bus anything Trump does would be seen as politically motivated. He is looking to win the war not individual battles. + the longer this goes on, the bigger the hole gets for Hillary’s team and they have been digging hard lately.
Why not Sessions, also?

Theoretically yes, but Rosenstein and Sessions would hide behind “we’re independent and would be enabled by the media and Dems. The will only release what they wish to release. Would have to fight it out in court.

I agree, he is stringing this out for a reason, I just hope we find out and it actually nets results with Hangings or Life sentences
I don’t think he stringing it out. I think he thought the DOJ would enforce the law.
Once spying on Trump by CIA/FBI is proven it is a fate accompli that it was driven by the White House (Obama). Who else would want or could make use of political intelligence? Pretty simple.
