Many have laughed at Trump's concerns, but on Sunday, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein gave momentum to President Trump's belief that the FBI may have spied on his 2016 presidential campaign for political reasons. Rosenstein did so by ordering the Justice Department's inspector general to investigate whether there has been "impropriety or political motivation" in the FBI's Trump-related investigations.
Trump had called for just this kind of investigation earlier on Sunday with the following tweet:
I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes - and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration! 1:37 PM - May 20, 2018

last paragraph:
“Rosenstein’s latest action thus puts Democrats in a catch-22.
They could continue supporting Rosenstein as the voice of objective reason, and thus effectively endorse the legitimacy of Trump’s concerns, or to turn against Rosenstein, which would suggest their own motives might just be partisan.”
p
I guess “monkey wrench” is no longer politically-correct?
They’ll turn on Rosenstein...in 3, 2, 1...
Go Rosenstein and Sessions!! Great job in draining the swamp!
Yeah but that is purely a tactic to stall Horowitz report - maybe hoping it goes on beyond the November election!
Here we call them wrenches.
And never mind Rosenstein where is Magoo?
Theyll come back with ... no reasonable prosecutor......
Baloney.........
> Baloney.........
Exactly. This is Barney Fife covering his a$$
Brits do, too !
They could continue supporting Rosenstein as the voice of objective reason, and thus effectively endorse the legitimacy of Trumps concerns, or to turn against Rosenstein, which would suggest their own motives might just be partisan.
I think it puts Democrats "in a bind", or "between a rock and a hard place". Neither option works for them, but that doesn't mean it's a Catch 22.
Oh it’s Rogan — knew it had to be a Brit — when I saw “spanner” lol
Rosenweasel’s best option is to try to stay ahead of the wave that’s coming on them fast, because this thing hasn’t fallen apart, it’s exploded. Looked at from any normal, objective viewpoint hell yes there’s probable cause, but remember that a partisan Dem looks at it in terms of what they can get away with. That horizon is shrinking on them.
Isn’t Sessions the actual AG? Or does he hold a ceremonial post like the Prince of Wales?
Theyll turn on Rosenstein...in 3, 2, 1...
Nope. They’ll stick with him because they know Trump will remove him the day after the midterms.
Darn! And just when I was coming to terms with losing the expression “N***** in the woodpile”
