@realDonaldTrump 6m6 minutes ago More I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes - and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!

I think Sessions believes he is walking a tight rope between the legal and political implications.

He is attempting to be honorable on both accounts.

No, he’s not. As I said earlier, Trump has called him out MULTIPLE times in tweets to actually DO something. If Sessions had ANY honor he would have quit at that point, because it’s obvious the President is highly displeased with the way he’s (not) doing his job.

"One of the things I've noticed is that you see a lot of commentary from lawyers in the media about the DOJ one way or another (Sessions supporters and Sessions bashers), but I don't think I've seen a single lawyer in the media who is critical of Sessions complain that things aren't happening fast enough. Lawyers know better than anyone what a legal process involves, and the importance of getting everything right the first time it's done. Look how comical Mueller's team looks when they show up for their hearings in the Concord Management case so woefully unprepared."

While I am no lawyer and I can appreciate that indictments in complex cases would require a fair bit of work, I'm not sure the that is a fair comparison?

The failures and gaffs we are seeing in the Concord Management case has (at minimum) two striking issues:

1) The Mule Team never imagined that the Russkies would show-up to defend themselves, hence work was never done on the case, and

2) The underlying charges made against the Russian persons and companies lacked merit from the beginning.

The Russian indictments were a public relations play designed to get a Russian, any Russian, indicted to make it not so obvious that they were targeting President Trump the whole time. They expected Paul Manafort would roll over and plead as well like his partner and that case is also showing how little they did in preparation for a trial.

Not to be argumentative but I just don't think it is a fair comparison to a US Attorney General who has had 15 months on the job without a single indictment in regard to corruption in the Obama Administration.

Keep in mind that there are two parallel lines for a single pattern of facts here. I'd describe them this way:

1. The facts as they are PUBLICLY known to the players involved (Trump, his legal team, his political advisors, the DOJ, the House and Senate committees overseeing these matters, etc.)

2. The facts as they are ACTUALLY known to the players involved

There is an important distinction between the two, and this requires events to unfold in a way where #2 will always precede #1. In effect, the players involved have to "play dumb" because they may be privy to a lot of information that they can't discuss in public until it is out in some kind of public domain.

The Sen. Grassley letter from a few days ago where he requests a number of documents and answers to a number of questions from Deputy AG Rosenstein is a perfect example of this. Grassley knows the answers to all of the questions he asks in that letter. But he still has to go through the process of extricating the information from Rosenstein's office because none of it can be used in a legal process until it becomes "public."

This is exactly what Trump is doing here. He knows what happened, but he has to get the information out in the open through a venue that actually has legal authority to do something with it. An investigation of the FISA abuse should have started a long time ago (it may have already started), but the trickle of information into the public domain in recent weeks gives Trump more credibility to pursue this course of action than he would have had several months ago.

And how long would you allow a corrupt sc to destroy anyone associated with the president?

Who is this "anyone associated with the president" you describe here?

Oops, one too many leaks to the msm seems to have motivated our irritated leader to pounce! Let’s all hope this is for real, we’ve been waiting far too long. Please fire Mueller Mr President!

President Trump has the authority to fire AG Sessions anytime he wants. He has not (yet) WHY?

-

I wondered the same thing for a long time (and still do, to some extent) - but I think the reason is that those worthless “good ol’ boy” Senators refuse to confirm a replacement AG, and refuse to officially go on break so that Trump can fire Sessions and name an interim AG. I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong. :-)

Package deal. Fires Session, Rosenstein takes over until a new SOS is confirmed. He has to fire them both.

Even a joint session of congress would gum up the works. Schumer, Warner, and Schiff would gum up the works from day 1.

The reason why Goober Magoo kicked this massive conspiracy of treason to the IG was to stall and whitewash it.

97 percent of DOJ contributions went to Hillary rotten Clinton. Let that simple fact sink in...The DOJ is staffed with rabid lefties, Trump Haters and Hillary voters.

The DOJ needs to be gutted top to bottom-stem to stern starting with that rat bastard Jeff Sessions.

Oh, come on. Those bastards would try to arrest Barron for getting a C on his homework if they thought they could get away with it.

Because grassley said he would not allow another AG to be approved. That would leave resenwiesel AG for the rest of Trumps presidency.

Interesting prediction.

I would say it's more likely that one or more of the following three proceedings will be the undoing of Rosenstein and/or Mueller:

1. Mike Flynn's case
2. Paul Manafort's criminal trial
3. the Concord Management criminal trial

Think about it this way: If you were Donald Trump and you wanted the special counsel charade to blow up in the most thorough, embarrassing, and politically powerful (for you) way, what would that be?

I'd say the best course of action would be for the legal proceedings listed above to collapse in a way that: (A) Rosenstein and/or Mueller are cited by a Federal court for prosecutorial misconduct; and (B) the defendants are acquitted in a way that they have recourse to sue the DOJ for millions of dollars in damages.

There would be no need to fire either one of those guys if they end up facing disbarment proceedings when those trials are over.

Oh for f***s sake!

Trump is the President of the United States, which nation has a UNITARY EXECUTIVE.

He is their BOSS and can command them to do as he wishes.

It is far too early to conclude that. We have plenty of evidence and suggestion that he’s been crazy like a cat and is silently ready to pounce.

Where are the criminal charges against people like Steve Bannon, Kellyanne Conway, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump, Corey Lewandowski, etc.?

I came to the conclusion long ago that -- with the exception of the Russians (perhaps) -- every one of the people facing criminal charges right now from Mueller's team are legitimate targets.

I see a lot of different things shaking out once the IG report drops...

I think you are setting yourself up for a big disappointment. The OIC is part of the deep state and he will cover-up all he can reasonably cover-up. And what he can't cover-up, he will present it in a the least incriminating way possible. It's just like the msm reporting things out of context to make the know facts fit their narrative.
