San Jose Mercury ^ | May 1, 2018 | Ethan Baron

A dozen Indian workers at an East Bay technology firm were promised salaries of up to $8,300 a month, but after the company brought them in under the controversial H-1B visa, they found themselves netting as little as $800 per month, the federal government alleged Tuesday.

One great result of President Trump's election is fewer RINOs ardently supporting H1B. We must continue to call out RINO support of H1B scam!

I'd like to see a requirement for every H1B worker's diploma and work history in their country of origin to be verified by an independent agency. Otherwise I will continue to doubt every H1B college degree.

I watched most of the interview with Mark Zuckerberg. NOT ONE committee member, across the political spectrum, asked him about using H1B workers instead of qualified US citizens to fill jobs. It should've come up, since Zuckerberg used as an excuse for FB's bad decisions was that his San Francisco-based reviewers weren't completely in tune with US expectations in freedom of speech and what is or is not hate speech.

The only persons who brought the issue up are Diamond and Silk in their very hilarious hearing.

It would require ripping the 1965 Immigration Act and nearly everything after it.

Whenever I see them I remember that they’re here to deny an American a good paying job.

No, they're here to make a better life for themselves and their families.

The result may be fewer Americans in those jobs but that's the fault of the (probably) American employers that hired them.

After taxes, $800/month sounds about right for people stealing American jobs. Fair share and all that.

And that would be a good thing....

the 1965 Immigration act was what has lead us to the mess we are currently in.

That’s a good point. The Republicans want cheap labor.

Kick out ALL the H-1B foreigners! We don’t need a single one of them.

Oops.
The H1-B job application mentioned ‘high slavery’, not ‘high salary’.

“H1B is to skilled workers, what illegals are to unskilled”

many of the H-1Bs are illegal aliens. Most stay past their employment dates and become illegal aliens. It is estimated there are now over 5 million illegal alien H-1B foreigners in the US.

Some people say a man is made out of mud
A poor man’s made out of muscle and blood
Muscle and blood and skin and bones
A mind that’s a-weak and a back that’s strong
You load sixteen tons, what do you get
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don’t you call me ‘cause I can’t go
I owe my soul to the company store

And I’m not disputing industry ‘norm’ or claims, I’m citing industry reality

All of the alphabet soup programs only serve to circumvent citizens, versus actually serving them.

That is wise. Having other folks sit for your test is considered normal there. Absolutely normal.

They generally have no work ethic to speak of either

If this really occurred then someone lied to the government when they applied for the visa. They are supposed to verify that a prevailing wage was met.

Whether the Deep State intentionally looks the other way when they lie is another whole issue.
