Mueller raised possibility of presidential subpoena in meeting with Trump’s legal team
Washington Post ^ | May 1, 2018 | Carol D. Leonnig and Robert Costa

In a tense meeting in early March with the special counsel, President Trump’s lawyers insisted he had no obligation to talk with federal investigators probing Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential campaign.

But special counsel Robert S. Mueller III responded that he had another option if Trump declined: He could issue a subpoena for the president to appear before a grand jury, according to four people familiar with the encounter.

Mueller’s warning — the first time he is known to have mentioned a possible subpoena to Trump’s legal team — spurred a sharp retort from John Dowd, then the president’s lead lawyer.

Donald Trump is probably one of the most investigated men in this country and nothing has been found that would incriminate him in any way. The man obtained FOUR gaming licenses in Atlantic City and one in Las Vegas - a rare feat indeed which requires the licensee to be squeaky clean. And this piker, and proven liar Mueller persists in his witch hunt. He should be strung up and hung in the public square.

This is so much horseshit.

POTUS must refuse, and force Mueller to make his recommendation to the US Congress...with what he has today.

Trump is no more impeachable than Obama was. He has a rock solid, no matter what, base of 35% of the electorate and another 15-20% that inclined to support him.

And there’s another 20% that is offended by the unfairness of it.

Let’s take it to the floor of the House.

Mueller is a major deep state swamp creature. Mueller is on the ropes. It's obvious.

Trump should immediately declassify all communications between then-FBI Director Robert Mueller, Obama, DHS Secretary, CIA Director John Brennan and others regarding Tamerlan Tsarnaev and the Boston Bombing. Why did Mueller reject surveillance of Tsarnaev after his detenion by the FBI a year earlier? Why did Mueller against reject surveillance or repeat detaining of Tsarnaev after SPECIFIC warnings by Israeli, Saudi and Russian intelligence NAMING Tamerlan and his radical, Al-Awlaki-linked mosque?

If Americans could see what they wrote, Mueller would have to flee the country on the next available charter flight.

So, now Drudge is up with the ‘Obstruction’ crap. Okay, what is the crime that Trump is obstructing justice for. Firing Comey? Inclination to pardon Flynn? How can Trump obstruct no crime while actually performing his Constitutionally designated authority?

Your suggestion is magnificent, I think this horseob*ma would still have been tried in the unlikely event any one else had beat Hilarity. Beat Hilarity, I like the sound of that. In any event, Trump is the only one who could do it.

The time for stating an actual crime related to Muh Russia was when Mueller was appointed... now he’ll just state the crime is obstruction of justice (aka asserting his innocence and executing his presidential duties/authority). Does not matter if Mueller can actually indict , or even if the Senate would convict on a Dem House impeachment. They’ll try to get rid of Trump any way they can and be satisfied with taking back the House and Senate to sustain the swamp until he’s gone, whether that be in 2020, 2024, or earlier.

“Does Mueller have a boss? Is he in any chain of command? ”

Yes. He reports to Rosenstein. Rosentein reports to the most worthless AG ever to carry the title, Jeff Sessions.

send Mueller and the rest to Gitmo for treason questioning....

So frustrating. When callers righteously suggest that on Mark Levin’s radio show he yells at them and ridicules them-—”You can’t investigate the investigators! They’ll call it revenge and no one will allow it!”

It is SO terribly frustrating I can’t stand it. Hillary, Comey and Mueller will skate just like Bill & Hillary always skate. They laugh at us!!

I only console myself by remembering this is only when we play within the system and by the rules. They don’t. Why should we???????? My wife’s reply: So you don’t go to prison. Sobering thought.

Only Dems Get Out of Jail Free with a card.

So sick of Drudge’s DS-esque crap.

He’s definitely gone to the dark side.

I wonder what they have on him.

The questions sound more like a 60 minutes interview. “How did you feel?” “What were you thinking?”

more like a cheap Anderson Cooper interview.

There are only two responses necessary: 1) how did you feel? Like an executive leader faced with making a decision in the best interests of America; 2) What were you thinking? Of the best interests of America

“Fruit of the Poisonous Tree

A doctrine that extends the exclusionary rule to make evidence inadmissible in court if it was derived from evidence that was illegally obtained. As the metaphor suggests, if the evidential “tree” is tainted, so is its “fruit.”
