The Supreme Court on Monday announced Justice Sonia Sotomayor will undergo shoulder-replacement surgery.
Sotomayor, 63, injured her shoulder when she fell at her home earlier this month.
The court's public information office said in a press release that "tests revealed she suffered a multipart displaced head splitting fracture of her proximal humerus," and that further consultation with specialists indicated surgery was needed. The court said she will undergo reverse total shoulder replacement on Tuesday morning and will curtail activities for the next few weeks while she recuperates.
She will wear a sling for several weeks and will undergo physical therapy for several months, the Supreme Court said. She is expected to recover full mobility and shoulder function.

They make this seem routine. However, her type 1 diabetes will make the recovery difficult. Recent low blood sugar and her fall (diabetes related) means she might beat Kennedy out the door. I'm still not tired of winning!

The wise Latina not wise enough to de-obese herself as a diabetic.
The article says she has Type-1 Diabetes (early childhood, typically) not Type-2 (typically obese related).

"She needs to retire so she can fully recover." Retirement doesn't nessicarily mean the end of her career. I see her in her front
parlor as the wise neighborhood dream lady, interpretting dreams and reading
tarot cards for every tía and abuela on her street.

Shoulder replacement surgery ok. But she needs brain replacement surgery first.

POST OF THE DAY !
I wonder if they’ll cut that chip into her replacement shoulder.
And I also wonder, really really wonder, what could go wrong during the procedure. like, worse case scenario.

I hope the liberal bitch gets better. I hope she spends
her recovery time in reflection and comes to the
conclusion that there in more to life than ruining
the lives of Americans. I hope she quits her day job and
moves to Nepal to work as a bus driver on one of those
narrow mountain roads w/ rickety bridges and a road
surface that washes out twice a month. And, I hope she
gets a lot of visits from wealthy liberal American
tourists who want to ride on her bus.

Best wishes for her surgery. It would be a shame if she went tits up and never came out of anesthesia.
