President of the White House Correspondents' Association Margaret Talev defends the decision to have Michelle Wolf as the comedian at the dinner, saying "she had a message to deliver and she did." Talev also said she hoped "those 15 minutes" do not "define four hours of what was a wonderful and unifying night."
Wolf's set has been criticized by both CNN and FOX News.
"I think she brought to the night what she thought was important to say, and her goal may not have been press unity and everyone rallying around to support journalism," Talev also said.
